  1. I'd like to see ya build one like that, Steve! It would be a departure for ya!
  2. Very sharp work. I really like the brake lines on the master cylinder! Now....about that baby....................................?
  3. Looks great, sir!! The continental kit sets it off!
  4. Nice work on this ol' Chebbie! How hard would it be to replace the headlight bezel on the right side with the other piece from the donor body? That way, both sets of headlights would match, even if the paint is a shade or two off.
  5. Good ol' economic thinking!!
  6. I don't remember. I built the Model King issue of this kit, so I'll hafta go take a look.
  7. I like this camper, a lot!!!
  8. PERFECT!! These old trucks can look like this in the southeast, too!!
  9. I used Tamiya tape for the edge of this two-tone job, both on the primer, and on the first color: After allowing one day drying time, I put the Tamiya tape down along the chrome trim between the two colors, then carefully added blue painter's tape to the edge of the Tamiya tape. Each time I sprayed a color, I pulled the tape off as soon as I could. Both colors are Tamiya colors. I had no problems at all with paint lift using this method.
  10. So...I might get one and throw a razor saw at it. LoL
  11. Since there is a top down boot cover, I wonder if the interior tub is set up for a convertible version.
  12. Very cool project! Looking forward to seeing this one thru! I used a Monogram '58 T-bird roof to convert a '62 Impala into a 'Palamino'. It worked surprisingly well with the Impala body and windshield frame.
  13. I used white masking tape on a two-tone paint job once........ONCE! It pulled about half the paint off that I had already applied. So, I had to re-prep for that color, mask the second color, and re-spray the first color! The next time, I used blue painter's tape, with no ill effects. I know some builders use Bare Metal Foil for masking, but it seems that could become expensive.
  14. Are ya sure he's not one of the Zombies? LOL
  15. Stunning build of an "everyday" vehicle!!
  16. I have a friend who is an antique car buff. He has had some REALLY nice convertibles down through the years. He also collects Coca Cola memorabilia, and yes, if it has a Coke sticker involved, he'll grab it! I believe he would trade a MOPAR six-pack intake for an empty old Coke bottle!!
  17. HAHAHA
  18. I always shoot both colors, then clear before polishing or sanding. I've never tried doing them separately.
  19. Now, I'm hungry!
  20. I'd say more than a paltry few of us would love to grab some MOPAR mirrors, when they become available!
  21. WOW!!! I've never had brake fluid do that to any of my bad paint, and I left one in it for over two weeks! Whoever lifted yer pic was just WRONG! LOL
  22. It kinda looks like it was dipped in a vat of paint!! Maybe that plastic dip you put a screwdriver handle in! Ya might need to start with a mini jack hammer to begin the paint removal process!! LOL
