ERTL is separate from AMT right? Back in the day. I thought they were like a joint venture of sorts. But ERTL was its own thing long before that I’m sure. So when they split, R2 didn’t buy ERTL as well. Probably have to pay to use the name on the box.

65/66 F350 Suspension
Rusty92 replied to Rusty92's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Awesome information and thank you for the photo. Appreciated greatly! -
Looking to take the 65 F100 and make it into a dually. I know that the F350s had larger diameter wheel wells up front but I am not too worried about that. My main concern is the suspension. Specifically, would those be I-beams as well? I knew that they introduced them in 65, but would the 2wd F350s just be a straight axle with leafs? Or what are they. Cannot tell from pictures. Thanks.

Would Fireballs F250 conversion be appropriate for making this 65 into an F250? Or maybe I’ll just get it anyways.

I was referring to the 65, but I could just make a utility bed for the 66 instead of buying 3 kits. I wanted to make a 4WD utility truck. Thanks for your help! Maybe I can cobble something together.

What would be a good way to convert this kit to 4wd? Saw another thread discussing it and it sounds like the 70 F100 would be a good start, but the wheels would be incorrect and there are no aftermarket options. Is there something that I could piece together from various kits? Thanks!!

Thanks Stu! Now I don’t feel as lost.

Death of the Camaro? (Again?)

I think the regular 6.2 will stick around. Too dumb to just throw it away. It will be a while still before GM ditches pushrods and goes to DOHC. -

Good call, the paint is always on the first page of instructions that shows the sprues also. X is regular gloss (there is a semi gloss or two in this class as well) XF is flat TS is spray

Tamiya makes some of the best kits, so expect i it to fall together and be easy to clean up. I’ve seen these in black, dark green, orange and silver. Aston Martin will paint the car any color you want, so really it’s up to you!

Welcome! That’s awesome! Very impressed. -
Can't wait to see how it turns out! I have never built a Mustang kit.

Thank you! Thanks, Dann! Looks great! I have 1 more AMT kit to build, but I would like to get more. Thanks for sharing. Small update! Building will be slow from here on out. I just got approved by Illinois to sit for the CPA exam. So now I can really ramp up my studying.

Awesome, I have those photos but never really saw the yellow. Thanks for pointing it out!

I was wondering if you would show up! Thanks for joining. I did not know the rear window was tinted. Thanks for sharing. What did you use to tint it? i just got the 1/20 935 the other day. I also got a 936 as well. Have you built the 1/12? That was my first Porsche kit and when I began modeling I knew I needed it.

No issue with sharing the knowledge! I’m a big fan of road legal Porsches and late models especially. But lately I have been reading more about their amazing racing heritage. Thanks for sharing! I’m trying to build an accurate model here, be it a little simplified or whatnot. I’m hoping Spot Models has their Renaissance photo etch parts in stock soon for this kit!
