  1. I’m an LS kinda guy. But I do enjoy seeing the brands intermingled. GM guys dislike when there are other brands in their engine bay! It’s funny.
  2. Well before it gets thread locked, I’d like to say that the blind praise is a 2 edged sword. It can really help people feel accomplished and push them to start on another. At the same time it also is disheartening to see people comment on something that is not very well done and gush over it. And yes, it is crushing to post something that you’re darn proud of but not get any likes. People want to be praised and have their work enjoyed. Again, a 2 edged sword.
  3. I wish a company would do the new skyline.
  4. Here is a wonderful write up by our very own @Italianhorses. All credit goes to him. http://italianhorses.net/Tutorials/Photoetch/pe.htm
  5. Realistically, I would LOVE to see more GMT400 pieces. The kits (AMT/MPC 88-98 GM trucks) are good, but no K parts, accurate engine bay components, 94+ grilles are available on the Tahoe and dually snapper only. Furthermore, we could use GMC grilles and 94+ mirrors and interior. Would like to have an accurate Vortec engine as well.
  6. A must have. Ed is great. And Dennis, this is a quality piece. I will have to order one!!
  7. Ooh good call, Joe. I remember as a kid that he looked great that way. His paint was awesome.
  8. Beautiful build. Porsche kits are always fun. Now I’ll have to buy some more!
  9. Precisely, dry tip! That’s what it was too! I will look for their retarder. The acrylic thinner was just not enough. Thank you for the response. It brushes on quite nice though.
  10. Last night using my Paasche Talon, my Tamiya flat aluminum (metallic) was not wanting to spray a solid even line. It would spray very wide and I couldn’t lay down a nice single line of it. I had no trouble spraying a wider area, just not fine details My other Tamiya paints lay down fine and I can use the smallest needle to really do some fine detail work. Not so much with the flat aluminum metallic color. Why could this be?
  11. Really sweet Sonoma.
  12. Gravity of Spain is the good one though. But scale finishes and splash are good as well.
  13. I’ll never buy this kit because the roof line is 1mm off.
  14. Beautiful. That white really pops!
  15. Got some painting done. My skills are not great with an air brush in these tight spots. Any recommendations? I touched up some spots with a brush, and have more to do. Also what is a good way to create road grime and grit build up underneath? I think this will help hide some of the poor skills with the air brush. And the turbos? Compressor side aluminum and turbine side a rusty color?
  16. Got some stuff shaved off to make room for the etch pieces.
  17. Little bit more! ?
  18. Thanks for stopping in! Thanks, this is my first time with etch. Getting some work done, got the etch centered and the sanding has commenced! Got the hole almost done. I really like this kit. I hope my coworkers enjoy it also.
  19. On GMT400.com we have “supporting members” they pay $20 a year to keep the site running and get: bigger avatar photo larger inbox ability to change their handle/username color its pretty cool.
  20. Looks like this P/E was designed more for the J. David 935. I’ve decided that most of it can and will be used. The front grille won’t be though. I would really have to fill in a lot. The rear grille will be easier for me to hog out on the kit and use the P/E.
  21. I finally looked at the p/e in detail and it is much smaller than the kit parts. The front grille is much too small. And the rear grille is much too large. They also don’t work when reversed. This is frustrating.
  22. That is a stunning build. Was this a kit decal or after market?
  23. Crazy. Either a big model fan or mopar fan
  24. Great model! That front end collision looks rough!
