  1. Thanks for posting! My mother has always wanted one. I might have to build her a copy.
  2. These are being discussed here also. But I am just as excited as you!
  3. Wow that is really cool.
  4. What is that Lindberg box? And is that a ram charger based 4 door SUV on the shelf?
  5. It’s looking great. I like the wheel choice a lot! Jacob
  6. And more progress you shall see! Last night I got the doors off, my first time doing that to a model. I also have a transfer case built for the V-Drive. It looks a little small, but when it’s next to the TH400 it seems to be in scale. I can always make another. I will sand off the excess putty and then start making drive shafts, output shafts, and hook it to the transmission. As cool as this setup is I know the front end will be a hassle to recreate. Patience is key for me! Thanks for looking, Jacob
  7. Very nicely done. The painting has kept me away from this kit, but yours is fantastic! Jacob
  8. What good is a van with all that real estate inside if you cannot see it? The doors are off. This was my first time opening doors on a model.
  9. Everyone’s are looking good! Heres my update for the night: Made the oil pan for the transfer case, now building the case itself and hopefully make some driveshafts tonight.
  10. Just did a trade with Gardnerpag44 and it went extremely well. He’s a great trader! Thanks Paul!
  11. On another issue of that kit it shows the engine as being yellow. However, on google it shows it as a boring gray. But Steve is correct also about beige.
  12. You have greatly inspired me Anthony. Truly a cool build.
  13. Whoa that is really cool. I did not know there was a flip nose Blazer. Jacob
  14. Joe, it's looking good. Those pictures of the 454 that you posted in my G30 thread got me thinking... I had seen you working on one yourself. I also drive a GMT400, mine is a 1992 C1500 with a 5.7 and 5 speed. I will enjoy watching this SS come together. I love these trucks.
  15. Thanks for the interest. I'll be taking it from one of the 454SS Silverado parts kits that I have. Although the TBI unit is very crude, I can clean it up some.
  16. The one is definitely the alternator/generator correct. The other is probably the AC that sits in the middle of the drive system at the top near the intake. The last one... not sure. Could be a dual alternator set up. Unless it is a CP3 injection pump that is meant for high output applications. I will be following this build, Can't wait to see it come together! Jacob
  17. Interesting build. Where will you source the Top Kick cab and front clip from?
  18. Ron Olsen at 3D Model Specialties makes a quality IRS piece. Picked this up in 1/25 scale.
  19. I did not know that this was a kit. Very nicely done. Love it! Jacob
  20. Jim, I do plan on scratch building a lot of it. The rear suspension is a dana 60 that I have on the way. The 2 front differentials are closely related to dana 30s and custom control arms. It's interesting that the GM ones kept control arms but the Ford ones were I-beams. I figured VEMCO, the company that outfitted the vans, would have just made them more consistent across the board. And of course that transfer-case is going to be entirely scratch built or 3d printed if i can find someone to assist me. Thanks for the interest!
  21. @Oldmopars that is looking good already. I like the addition to the roof and the front leaf is looking great.
  22. Hello all! This will be my thread for the 2019 Cannonball Run aka The Vannonball. This years theme is vans and I have selected the AMT Rescue Van as my kit of choice. I will be converting this to 4wd via the Dana V-Drive system, adding 8 lug wheels, a TBI 454 and lots of interior goodies. Below is the V drive system used on roughly 1600 Ford and GM vans. I will be doing this up as a news van "CBR Action News" so that it would blend in a bit more on the proposed route. I plan on opening the rear doors, detailing the interior, and making a realistic chassis so that the 4wd looks usable. I'll be posting more updates here in the coming days.
  23. Looks like we are going to have a few 4x4s and '55 Fords in the mix. Should be interesting that way. Here is my update for the night. I was gone most of today unexpectedly and got home a short while ago. But I made up some graphics for my van. Since it will be a news van, it needs the appropriate livery. I have decided to call it CBR Action News. What do you all think? It showcases the continental US and the route (close enough anyways).
  24. Not sure about the diecast. Do they make that VW van in a kit? I think I’ve seen the Samba Bus somewhere.. but if Ryan doesn’t have access to it I guess it wouldn’t be a big deal. I am relatively new to the CBR though. Don’t want to step on your toes. the AMTronic will be cool. I’ll probably start at 7:00am! Happy new year to you all, and hope to see many posts in this thread throughout the year!
  25. Beautiful paints, I hope to order some here soon.
