When the project dies. Or does it?
89AKurt replied to Jantrix's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Just thought I would dredge up this old OT, found randomly. But still applies for today, doesn't it? I was hunting down one of my completed builds, need to replicate an exhaust tip, a benefit of not getting banned from this forum. -
That's a killer build! ๐ณ Not just because I love purple, that's gorgeous. The sort of primer yellow cage, nice contrast. But I have to ask, what's with the headlights? I was also expecting a boozookoo or whatever the wild customs in Japan are called. I've used toggle switches from Top Studio. Wanted to do justice by more than the clicking of ๐.

1:1 Hot Wheels Rims......
89AKurt replied to JollySipper's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sort of like the Ferrari Rainbow show car wheels. -
Do you also have 1:1 project cars?
89AKurt replied to ctruss53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This really isn't much, but.... since I got the 3M polishing compound (about half used so far) to polish vehicle #3, and have used on #4, thought I would try to half--- polish the interior of #2. Can you see the difference? I assume it's nicotine and dust, the polish takes it right off. Redneck door keeper-opener. Like polishing the paint on a model, have to watch the corners and edges. Next weekend is the club's big show at Watson Lake. Trying to figure out what to enter, and if I should camp like last year. -
Oh okay, so cancel my post. ๐คช Today I craned my neck to polish half the ceiling of Blue Cloud. ๐ Still no rain..... ๐ญ

What did you see on the road today?

Some more from today. Last century when I was going to college, carpooled with a guy who had exactly this, same color, to go ski at Snowbowl. Cold as you know what, he was switching the heat lever back and forth. I remember the ride more than the day of skiing. Love the bumpers. -

[...] she owns nine of the top 10 fastest Top Fuel speeds in NHRA history. [...] I just heard the term "cacklefest" at a cruise today, when numerous nitro burners that are parked, run at the same time. That was smokin' run!!! ๐ณ

Porsche Outlaws & Hot Rods
89AKurt replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is an early Bruce Canepa customized Porsche. They did not cut any of the original car, the exhausts sweep around and end at the original tip. It's stealth all the way. -

Some left turn red lights are forever, so it's a great time spender. My first traffic light from home is a stupid "smart" light, many times I sit there with no traffic coming my way, both directions, then when a platoon gets close, the first cars run the red light. Bosa Donuts P.V. cruise, for some reason a bunch of Fords congregated. Cars & Coffee: One of three Cobras there. The only Task Force pickup: I built a 3D printed model of this truck, looks ready for paint! This C-10 Survivor has only FIVE THOUSAND+ miles, no rust anywhere, even behind the bumpers. The owner hunts down estate sales, to beat the used car dealers. Some interesting JDM and other imports: Now to find the Outlaw Porsche thread..... -

Welcome! I've attended some GSL shows! Glad to make the last one, but my building completely halted.

of Teddybear Cholla My dad was a NPS Ranger, had to rescue a moron who fell off a cliff and rolled through a cactus patch.

Pleased I'm vertical and free of medical issues, listened to someone about his ordeal for like an hour, you never know. My Shipping Container got a custom transfer, since the County is always wanting to know the square feet of anything for a permit, and I skated on this, just for laughs I added that specification. It's about as close to modeling that I've done for awhile.

Needed a pane of glass cut for a project. Went into the shop I have used before. The salesman, and woman cashier were busy with a potential client picking hardware out, they acknowledged me when I walked in, then I sat down. Waited, and waited, while the salesman and lady were looking, the cashier was watching them and doing nothing else. I just got up and walked out after a couple minutes, screw that! Second time now, the other time at REI, family signing up, I was absolutely ignored, so I put the hat back and walked out. Customer service is so lacking anymore. Another Irk, no rain.

Looks real to me, but what do I know about fake cars. ๐ Also dodgy to take pictures while driving, I never do that. ๐ This is my on-the-road shot for tonight, the beginning of White Spar, I'm doing about 2 MPH, not twice the posted suggestion on the corner signs. Earlier today, outside a mechanic's shop sat this C-10, been in the family forever, he has it with a built engine. So I'll *have to* show him my Green Barge. -

Still no rain! I even washed Fakerri, did the 50 mile Skull Valley loop (I used to be able to ride a bicycle on that). I even aimed where the clouds were, top down. Just more sunset pictures. Tonight it's 72ยบF, 18% humidity, heard it's been record low dew point readings lately, not good for thunderstorm buildup. That is Whiskey Row. I don't dare go into a bar with this parked outside. ๐

No rain, we are about 80% below a "normal" Monsoon by this time. The half inch I got cools it down at night, it's 71ยบF now. Almost missed this sunset.
