  1. Seems like when I hinge anything, it takes a minimum of two tries to get it right. Look forward to seeing the end result!
  2. I used to shred, Moab Utah is my favorite place ever. I've never had to deal with this, thanks for the insight. Visited a friend in LA, they had a broomstick by the door, for first time out every morning they would need to clear a path to the car. My dad was bit on the top of his foot by a Brown Recluse just before a trip, a couple days later we had to rush back to the hospital. Yea, I don't like spiders either.
  3. Attended the Phoenix model swap meet today. I sold 3 models, bought 3 plus military parts. I *had to * get the '72 Chevy pickup, it was *only* $35 unmolested, so maybe I'll do a 4 door version someday. (my stash behind) I have been looking for a Ferrari 512S to go with the Porsche 917, again someday in my next life. My neighbor recently restored a Goat, was thinking of building a before version, which was found on the Navajo Reservation, yes, a diamond in the rough, he has a really nice real thing! Why are these hard to find nowadays?

  5. Since I have this kit, will lurk and learn. Does the chalk suck up the paint, so it remains really dull?
  6. That's freaking COOL! I've worked several rallies, one had a 911 participate. This just made me want to resume and finish the Paris Dakar 959 that I started.
  7. When I get into the obsession mood, I sort of go overboard. This month I got two more kits from an estate, it was like the proverbial barn find. I previously posted the AMT Mercedes 300SL Autobahn on a new topic thread, just because it's too cool. The AMT 1/16 scale '55 Chevy convertible is something I have not seen before, and I have a few Fujimi 1/16 kits already, so why not; I see it has a turbo option! Got another Nazca M12, because the guy gave me a good deal. *Had to* get the Tamiya 911 Turbo, even though I have two Fujimi kits. The '72 Chevy pickup had been started with paint, seller stripped the body, so it was a decent deal (compared to eBay prices!), I will build it as a replica of my real '69. AMT '55 Chevy pickup, already have the '57 with photo-etch parts, but why not? Revell Integra is just for the engine, will stuff into the '74 Honda Civic RS (did already on my '87 Civic), no need to open that kit either. ...someday...
  8. unless you're Vegan.
  9. I have that kit, and p-e parts. Are those turned aluminum shocks and real springs? Really nice build, can see other details.
  10. Top image, the skinny tires with lines like the tires that gang-bangers used to mark their territories, which got them banned, cracks me up. Lower image, the C-pillars remind me what Infiniti is doing now: https://www.infinitiusa.com/vehicles/crossovers/qx30.html
  11. I know someone with a collection of models for sale, saw the list, this kit was one so I looked up on eBay and found it was "rare" and price was ridiculous. The dude also wanted a premium for the whole collection, would not sell one at a time.
  12. parts to scratch-builders
  13. Yep, I knew that! Funny how hidden headlights are universally hated when open. Think the '39 Cord was the first, and they looked okay when open. I have an Alfa Romeo BAT resin kit, you have the option and I'm wanting to make them operable. Again, nice job.
  14. Long time ago used Chrome Tech. So I'm staying tuned here.
  15. You touch on the collectible aspect that is annoying many of us. I got an Aerovette kit that was still wrapped, then read how tires tend to melt the unwrapped windows, so I opened it and sure as ****, back window with deep circle melt mark. So for good measure, if I was to sell it on eBay as "RARE", I guess original ripped would bring more $? And waste the perfectly good die cast model?!?!? The travesty of that thought, shame.
  16. All I ask for everyone, please write something like: Here is a video you can download to see better. Otherwise, back to your model, I have the kit, and it might not ever get built, so kudos to you for completing it!!
  17. Thanks for the information! It has the typical flash, but I was impressed with the amount of detail. The Prestige kit will be in a diorama, rode hard and hung up wet condition, thinking with the engine on an engine stand like it's getting rebuilt.
  18. Yea ya, the Chinese appreciate your business. And it didn't come with a cardboard diorama base.
