⬆️🔼⏫ That right there, a sign, that you might need help. 😜 "No not me, Kurt says to himself." 🤫 I never knew Shipping Containers are controversial. Got it for the little sports car, top down is the only way to get in and out of the car. Back to carports, as you can see I *need one* behind the Honda, bike is a friend's who kinda needs to take it away. For this: Wait, you already have a pickup. But .... but I always wanted a Task Force era GM pickup. I blew the chance to buy a really nice, all original, white/red '55 Chevy Cameo last century, because there was an ugly hole in the fiberglass, and I thought "how cheap" and instead got a '48 Chevy 5 Window money pit. I never restored it. This '56 had the rust repaired, and the body is straight as can be for a 69 year old truck. Lived in Clarkdale/Cottonwood working with an ambulance company, was painted white over the best color for these. It's a Long Bed stepside. Look at that tailgate! The wood appears to be in decent shape, I would just put diamond plate in it's place if needed. All the junk is free. Everyone wants to see the engine..... owner said the original 265 Pontiac engine is out back, needs a rebuild, a 283 in place now. After my experience of dropping a crate 350 H.O. into the '68, I don't need to hot rod this (much) if I keep it. No power anything, love simple. Same 4 on-the-floor Saginaw transmission (I think) as my '68. Hasn't run in 20 years. Look at that gauge cluster, and dash pad! It was this, or the Reo. -

I didn't know about the Neon's popularity, Honda was my import, then MINI. Had a '91 Jetta GLi with the twin cam, non-interference belt broke, stopped on the highway, rebuilt but the shop screwed up and didn't do the crank, that ground to a halt a month later after I forced them to fix it, never was the same again. MINIs started breaking gold-plated BMW parts. Now with this car..... brakes are still an issue. 🤬 -
I'm irked that I don't have a legit First World irk to share. Aridzona legalized fireworks awhile ago, everyone was like "why?", and this part of the country still has a half decent LEO/Fire presence with helicopter flying over the fireworks. Oh yea, this could be an irk, the new hospital that was just built on the highway almost below me (just thought of measuring) is 0.36 mile away as the Medivac flies. I didn't see the plans, have to assume they did not show the helipad in the beginning. Then they slipped it in, a Hearing was held, as expected everyone close complained, given a Conditional Use permit which stipulates more landscaping, and a wall not a fence. We shall see. Each flight has a different approach, one followed the highway, another circled directly over my house, no set path. The City Of Prescott airport has been an ugly issue, property rights vs. crash zones. All I can say, considering how stupid people are driving anymore, I had a couple chances to get killed at that intersection just waiting to U-turn. So it could be me, getting taken down to the Valley Of The Open Oven Door. Oh yea, a new one, someone is multiple texting me, several separate times, like "oh yea I forgot, add that......" I've told her a few times to stop doing it, and she still is. So I just responded a few times in a row.

Went hiking on Mingus Mountain this morning. We had the rain blow through over two days, now it's sunny. Some areas are getting green. It had rained over one inch in small areas, not at this spot.

Bronco to go under cover….
89AKurt replied to James2's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Cool project! Best of luck in the contest. I overheard the owner of a restored Bronco at the Williams show say he would take $150,000 for it, he wouldn't drive it on dirt. So don't go too overboard. 🙂 -
The iPhone weather app [bleep] is useless: This is an 8 inch rain, between drops. 🤪 They were big too! For about 15 seconds. The little blue dot is Dewey, which got nailed with hail over 1" diameter. It did rain a little, less than 1/4". I got a got shower on the walk to the field bench. There are several lightning caused wildfires at the moment.

I must have been under a rock.... missed this for the lack of three words. Your last post is amazing, I will wander through your topic. 🙂 I have a modest Mercedes G4 custom that I'm stalled on. -
Aridzona report: Russell, you told me you prefer that to snow. 🤪 While I was in town, 1/4" on my place. That's not surprising, when the chance is 40%, means land area *might* get something fingers crossed. I like AccuWeather's radar map, I suspect Havasupai Falls will be flash flooded this summer, again. Went for a walk to "the field" south of me, this is a nice bench to sit at. Then about a minute later without a model, I leave. 😅 Someone else drug the Juniper snag to this spot, I've been manicuring, which includes green, purple, maybe quartz rocks. I used a spokeshave to flatten the top, it has a blade sheen (not sanded) and starting to patina. One summer as a teenager, we flew to Houston from Tucson, must have been August (when dad would take that slot for vacation). When I walked down the airline ramp to the concrete, I about melted! So that was enough for me, parched that we are. Lampasses was nice.

Now, this is scary...

I'm just a techno grouch full stop. Makes me think of the Evolution progression meme, from ape to missing link to human to human getting killed by an A.I. robot. Enjoy this analog life while it lasts, not a fan. But I will admit to using G00gle's version, to argue on Fascistbook with. This is also why I enjoy kitbashing. -

Did the other headlights to match. But I'm still having issues with the brakes! Front is leaking? All new NAPA calipers, having the mechanic who did my pickup do it, just been a pain getting the correct parts to begin with, then they are junk, ridiculous unless you pony up on aftermarket, not ready to rebuild the whole car. -
Yesterday morning I looked at the almost useless iPhone weather app, no rain at all forecasted for 10 days, no clouds, 90º predicted high. The radio weather guy is usually more accurate. So I taunted Mother Nature, and had lunch in Seligman. Watched the thunderheads build up, everywhere else. I almost want to aim where the radar shows rain, sort of like a Hopi rain dance (I attended one years ago) but with a car. But alas, after I got home, it started to rain so I closed the pickup windows, then it stopped. Another area got 1/4" of rain. Pleased to see it's happening. Again phone app shows zero rain, radio guy said it's a higher chance today.

Huh, I didn't either, but You Tube and internet didn't exist back then. 😬 That's interesting, until you drive in snow.
