the Hindenburg's last

I cloud watched on the drive from AZ to Idaho. It was windy, there were some lenticular type of clouds early, then the farther north I went it got cloudier. In Boise the wind kicked up, and just enough sprinkles to make cleaning the windshield a must in the morning. Picture is in Nevada.

Blowing $160 on a room at Comfort Inn in Boise. So nowadays a pad of paper and a pen is overkill. No little bottle of lotion either. First World Irk, but remember when Motel 6 started up, what was the cost?

What did you see on the road today?

I didn't see much today, between Las Vegas and Twin Falls (I have to work at not saying Idaho Falls). Just one Cybertruck disguised with a mottled semi-gloss/flat black wrap. Still $&#] ugly. ðĪŪ When I got to Boise, saw a McLaren going the other way. -

Actually, the more layers of paint, the better. Many vehicles get repainted other colors. I've used hairspray to use real sand to make sand dunes, meh. I love using salt, like the '48 Canopy Express that I entered in the last GSL. -

I have a First World Irk! ð I live on a street that ends to the left (slight downhill), observed almost all strangers pick my driveway to turn around with (coming from the right). I'm a left turn. The driveway slopes down, is one lane wide, and is gravel. They don't look to the right (second "home" never here) and see the square, double wide, level driveway that they can back into, then be able to see down the street. But nooooo...... It's usually a rear wheel drive vehicle, with a light load. Today it was an Amazon truck, I looked at him and motioned, so he didn't peel out, but had total blind spot for the street. Missed the neighbor's mailbox. I mean seriously, there have been yard sales up the street, when I *had to* park at the street. Can't pick the easy one, no...... Oh yea, make it at least a three pointer U-turn too. ð I could inconvenience myself and install a motorized gate.

Looks great from here! I made the mistake of stuffing a 1/24 427 into a 1/25 Corvette, about half way I hunted down the kit boxes. ðŽ Finished it. I found out the engine mounts are different on my '56 GMC Pontiac engine, than the SB in there now, front engine mounts big difference. But serious, I like the patina. Too bad the kit windshield is so thick and wavy. -
I'm so in the dark about all that, first what is a Skoda? (just kidding, WRC) You might not like this, but my County does not require any check. That's why so many Rat Rods are at car shows (but rarely on the highway). My '68 pickup has zero emissions controls too, so double whammy.

Before sunrise I saw 61šF on the phone. The prediction for lots of rain fizzled, again. Today I drove through the upper Verde Valley, which is north of me about 20 - 40 miles. It showed signs of one good rain, but it still looks parched. But getting close to the mountains it looks noticeably greener. Just boring clear sky at the first rally sign, Chino Valley. Second sign at the end of another stage. This is close to the Verde River, appears that barely a sprinkle has fallen here. The highest point of the rally stages on Mingus Mountain at the end of First View (the railroad cut in the distance fakes you out), Jerome is behind me. It's just grass that makes it greener. Sign outside of Jerome, to discourage people from going a few miles on rough road to find out it's CLOSED. Oh look a little cloud! ð It's Noon now, 80šF with a few little cottonball clouds. Driving up to Washington (in the Honda) to visit family, so I prolly won't be posting much.

Pleased to drive Blue Cloud where the only guy I saw was running the grader over one of the Prescott Rally stages. Yes, we are having a European style rally running through Perkinsville, which is an old cattle ranch inside the Prescott National Forest, this weekend. Bummed that it conflicts with my grandson's 3rd birthday, so I'm not working this time. Anyway, this is just outside of Jerome. Pleased Blue Cloud does rough dirt roads and curvy Mingus Mountain so well, no problems at all (but I better check later).

Thank you. Just glad that I can. Never needed to join a gym. ð Didn't smash any fingers or toes moving those boulders, and it was fun to drop those on the dirt.

Used to ski, something similar was still being used at Brighton Utah (I was just a kid). Look forward to seeing a WIP of this.

This could also be in the What Pleased You and What's Your Weather threads, but this is special because the County lifted the fire ban last Friday. I prefer to cook with Mesquite, I know gas is easy but it's not the same. Grass-fed steak and Golden potato last night. I need to dig out the planks and do Salmon.

Pleased to be at a good stopping point on the backyard remodel. Going to WA to see my family next week. Finished the left side today. Found a spot to watch the sunset. Obligatory car picture. Pleased I got a great dinner, a restaurant has a killer salad, so I got my monthly dose.

I've seen some forecasts for lots of rain, but it's still hit or miss. This is "the field", looking north going back home. Heard thunder earlier. Drove to Chino Valley this evening, camera focused on the movement of the tree bobble. It's so green now!
