  1. Well, not a lot of progress to report on this build. Still on the fence about the paint/theme. I am really tempted to change to the ERB decals in the trailer kit. Or I may change the trailer/load to something else and build this trailer for my Prostar truck. Somehow I am just not liking this build with the newer cab and trailer. I am thinking I will do Elenore again only with the correct classic truck. Anyway, I will post pictures later.
  2. Thanks, I ordered a Moebius 53 with reefer.
  3. Well, not much of an update on this one. I spent some time working on the sleeper and the bed. The beds in these always looks so fake and and plastic. I wanted to give it more of a real look. I mixed up some Elmers glue, Future Floor polish and water. I used this to spread a tissue down over the plastic bed. This gives it some better effects and it looks more like a blanket that would be in a sleeper. A little paint, and we are done. I then assembled the sleeper around it.
  4. Looking good, I like the water tank. I did one of the AMT logger kits a while back, and it was an older release, but from 80's-90's not original. It was not too bad, some flash, parts fit was reasonable. But I agree, not the best kit out there.
  5. Well, I am in for 2021 with the AMT FLC and a Moebius 53 foot with Reefer. Doing a modern rendition of the Truck Elenore from the Great Smokie Road Block.
  6. Looking great, I did this one recently and it is a great kit. The weathering and details are fantastic.
  7. Well, if you look at my 60 Impala it has a nice bench seat for driver and co-driver as well as a cooler in the back for hydration. So, yes, I did think about it.
  8. I agree with the others, clean it up, make a mold and make copies. I think the list of folks that would by one is long.
  9. *** I am not an Expert*** That is going to be hard, anything meant to replicate a metal finish is going to be metallic, brushing metallic paint rarely gives great results if the surface is very big. If the surface is right, you could use bare metal foil. I have used that or air conditioning style tape (Aluminum tape) and had good results. However I have used it on flatter surfaces. An engine or trans would be difficult to do.
  10. So I am looking to do a trailer behind the new (Italeri re-issue) AMT FLC truck. I know that they have re-issued the Italeri Reefer trailer under the AMT logo (R2), but I am not sure how this compares to the Moebius for accuracy. The Moebius is 1/25th and the AMT is 1/24, the truck is 1/24. In this thread it is discussed (Yes I did a search) and all I get is that the Italeri is inaccurate, but no details as to why, other than the height. I have built this trailer and found it to be good, but I modified it, almost every aspect of it for my Agents of SHEILD build. Can anyone give me more info as to the height and length and what would be more correct and accurate behind the AMT FLC?
  11. I have been following this build from the beginning, I am really impressed with how it is coming along. Glad to see that you are so close to the finish line. It looks wonderful. Can't wait to see it done.
  12. I agree, 1/25 scale trucks is about as small as I really like to work with. Those are really cool trucks.
  13. Cool truck. I am always inspired by the work you do. I have do doubt this one with be as awesome as all the others I have seen you do.
  14. Dude! That is awesome, I love the work you have done. That Genny is perfect.
  15. Man, that looks great. I don't know how you got the tires to look so good. These kit are notorious for having badly wrapped and screwed up tires. Yours look perfect.
  16. I love it. I grew up around a logging community and those type of trucks were all over. That's going to be a nice truck when you are done. They are right, dent are more real.
  17. Great job on the car deck, it looks great. Matches the look of the truck very nicely.
  18. Great work on that engine, looking good.
  19. I like it, the color on the frame looks great. I like that deep blue, I have a can of something close I have used a few time. Keep up the god work.
  20. That looks great, I like it. Great colors and light weathering.
  21. This last year I was able to watch "The Great Smokie Road Block". It is a great movie with Henry Fonda. In the movie he has a 1976 KW W925 named Elenore after Elenore Roosevelt. However, as in the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds" that was remade with a more modern version of the car, I thought I would do a more modern version of the truck Elenore. Someday I may do the W925, but for now I am going to do a Freightliner FLC. The truck in the movie was white with blue and red stripes. It also had a trailer with matching stripes and a strange addition. The trailer had a full width Sunroof that opened up. It was as wide as the trailer and maybe 10-12 feet long. It slid back to open. Part of the plot of the movie was that there were "working Ladies" in the back and they would open it up while "Elegant John" drove the truck. It is a great movie, but not a great example of morality, incase you chose to watch it with family members. As for the truck, I have the cab glued together and the frame is glued. The engine is also glued and sitting in the frame to locate the driveshaft. No paint on anything yet as I will be adding some details, wires etc. to the frame and engine. I plan to try to match the stripes as close as I can shown in the pictures of the movie truck. The trailer will be the AMT/Italeri new release.
  22. Thanks, that is just sprayed out of the can, nothing else done.
  23. The Brass is from ACE Hardware, its Interior Metallic paint called Mirrored Gold. I was really pleased with how it turned out, I did not think I would find anything that looked like Brass
  24. I have seen several made from large thick Solder wire. However, almost ever truck kit has a turbo in it, so it would not be too hard to find some with junk kits on Ebay or from members here. Also, check Shapeways, they have 3D printed Turbos, as well as several Resin model parts sellers. You can scratch build one if you want, but there are so many options out there for pre-made ones, you would have to need something really strange not to be able to find one.
