  1. i: I occasionally email w Paul F - unlikely that he will again produce kits - which of course is a shame - but understandable given advances in cad cam and 3D printing but this is a good chance to see if makers like MFH will pay close attention to SHAPE - which requires an artist's eye to interpret in scale !! Umm I feel a rant coming on .... incidentally - Paul and Susie Fisher lived in Paradise Ca - it was THAT fire ! Paradise is trying to re-build, according to Paul - maybe consider a town name change ???? no, not Phoenix !!
  2. So I’m anxious to see how the 12th scale kit develops - I’m wondering whether MFH will correct any of the shape errors made in their now 10 yr old 24th scale kit …. We’ll all know soon - as the speed of their kit development is dizzying ..
  3. You can see several differences in the shape of the driving compartment cowling and some subtle differences in the shape of the transition from front fender to the radiator cowling - in some respects I think that the Fisher casting is more accurate - there are factory drawings posted here and there for reference - which brings me to the news on the MFH website - they are posting parts photos for a 12th scale Barchetta - including what will be a bonkers engine - with all of the internals - you haven’t lived until you’ve seen a working 12th scale MFH Ferrari V12 - with those pistons humming away …
  4. These photos offer a comparo of the Fisher / UMI Barchetta body casting and the MFH Barchetta - which of course is long out of production and basically umobtanium…. The MFH casting is in the collection of a friend that I had a chance to see during my wanderings up and down the east coast in the past two weeks …
  5. The boots look great. There is one or two other ways to do this - if you encounter any problem w breaks at the joint - we’ll explore - I used the RB Motion boots on the Lotus 29 - but these have the drawback of not liking glue …
  6. Note. The gray engine castings in the box are not kit castings- they are some castings of the engine I’ve built for the 32B …
  7. So as I’ve wandered away fr this thread - I thought I’d revive it with a fascinating Joker kit find. Joker made a Lotus 18 - and a darned good one !! It’s curbside but the castings for the wheels and body are great - they nailed it - this kit is not mine - it’s in a friends collection - and it begs foR some copies - and uses the same climax that I’m using in the 32B. What a cool find ! Model kit envy …
  8. Isn’t the Revell Harley kit 16th scale - or 12th ? im stubborn about scale - this will [someday] be 24th sc - and the engines cry out for some machining - I’ve found some drawings that will guide me … mans don’t forget to check out Margoram’s work - great Stuff …
  9. Well done im just starting to grasp that the phones in our pocket do so many things better than the desk tops in the office …
