Great job! Those old NASCAR Monte Carlo kits are nice, fun builds..

Finished my version of Jeff Gordon's Jurassic Park The Ride 1997 Winston All Star car, my first NASCAR build in 25 years. Done in Tamiya TS-18 Metallic Red over Testors One Coat Graphite Dust. I know it's not the correct color, but I was inspired by a fellow builder's version done in close to the same color a couple of years ago. I had a bit of bad luck with this one, starting with the old kit decals clouding due to the old adhesive. I bought another set of kit decals from Mike's that looked much better on the sheet. Those turned out to have the same adhesive yellowing, so I took the advice from a few members of a NASCAR modeling page on Facebook. After soaking the decals, I flipped them over on a paper towel, and with a q-tip, I swiped the adhesive off and that worked pretty good. Also, I tried to bend the windshield ever so slightly to better fit in the frame and promptly snapped it in half, so that will stay that way, lol. I also forgot a few details like the fuel filler cap and will catch them at a later time. Anyways, not my best work, but all things considered I'm pretty happy with it and it will look good in my display case whenever I finally get one.

Still just in absolute awe of the craftsmanship and details that you are capable of! I can barely drill holes in the kit's plastic heads and distributor for spark plug wires, LOL.

Yeah definitely not silver, and only white if there's some sort of 30th anniversary blue stripes. Black and Dark Blue looked the best to me, and that red one looks pretty nice too, I haven't seen very many red Ram Air T/A's in this vintage, so good call!

Looking forward to seeing some progress pics. I, too, love the 98-02 T/A's and that Ram Air hood just made them mean looking, especially the black ones.

Regardless of the issues, it still looks pretty good!

That's a lot of '32's and all of them very well done! Where did you find the girl with the dog in this one? My wife and I had a dog that looked just like it.

I was a very avid reader of Car Craft and Hot Rod back then and it both broke my heart and pissed me off royally that someone felt the need to steal this car. Turned out nice! I love these cars in 1:1 and built this kit in it's original release about 30 years ago. I have plans for three of them in the near future.

Looks good. The snapper is a good kit. I bought the Build 2gether kit with both the snap and glue versions and have only done the snap so far.
