  1. If anyone is considering having this done, but doesn't have enough parts to do, to justify the expense, I have a rear bumper and bumper/grill I could add and kick in for the cost. Send me a PM.
  2. Very nice Jim. A super clean hot rod.
  3. Wow. Just one on Ebay. Yikes. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Revell-Z-28-Camaro-Convertible-1-25-model-kit-6225-SEALED/143550450211?hash=item216c460a23:g:MAkAAOSwvfxeZQyq
  4. I went to find this today because I'm thinking of rewriting it into an article for a fledgling modeling publication that may or may not even happen. But better to be prepared. So I thought I'd give it a bump. ?
  5. I'm thinking a real early version of the AMT '65 Chevelle Wagon or something very similar with drag/surf options. The decals specifically calls it a wagon which I can't imagine if it wasn't one.
  6. Yes I think so too. Thanks very much.
  7. My dad was a serious flea market guy back when I was a kid. It was his Sunday thing. He would pick up kits for me with some regularity. One sticks in my head as a favorite at the time, but I've never seen the kit again. It was a second gen Camaro, with a lift off top. I'm assuming it was lift off because it was missing, but the rear package tray had a little slot where a mounting tab would fit. I got a really slick stance on it and it looked great with that convertible style. Any ideas?
  8. I like it. Very creative. ?
  9. I have used Krylons Make it Suede line before with good results. http://www.art-paints.com/Paints/Spray/Krylon/Make-It-Suede/Krylon-Make-It-Suede.html
  10. I'm really sorry I never knew about this one when I lived in Florida. This would have been fun.
  11. My thoughts exactly when I saw this kit. There's things I'd have done differently in retrospect, but I'm overall happy with the model.
  12. My thoughts exactly. Not to mention, unless you are going to take up rock stacking, you'd be hard pressed to find an artistic medium that is inexpensive. If you build a model a month at $120 per, yeah that's gonna start adding up, but very few of us build that quickly so the entertainment over time cost is much lower.
  13. I've built one Mad Max style '57 Chevy, the Mustang from Cherry 2000 and one Deathracer, and enjoyed them. I'm not sure if got another one in me, but I'll look at the stash.
  14. So I dragged out a kit yesterday when I was thinking about building one right from the box. Like a slump buster build. A Monogram Street Fighter/Bad Actor Chevy. Before I knew it - 1. Well the engine is awful, gotta replace that. 2. The core support if totally unrealistic, so that needs some detail added. 3. Sidepipes or no side pipes? 4. If no, should I trim away those curved rockers? 5. etc, etc. 6. AND ..... back in the box. So. This begs the question. In your experience, what are some of the best kits to build straight from the box, no need for the parts bins?
  15. That looks outstanding. Great work.
  16. I'm sure there are exceptions, but I find Monogram kits, although simpler than some, go together extremely well. Some, like the tri-five kits, suffer from propertion issues but other than that are great kits.
  17. Hmm... I think a phantom Luv SS is in my future. Call it the Chevy Lust? ?
  18. Yep, that he said.
  19. Post-traditional. That's what the guys on TRaK called my '57 a while back. I've never really heard the term defined before. I'm looking forward to seeing this build.
  20. I believe mis-wired is more accurate. There is a line between courage and madness. It's a fine line, but there is one. Base jumping after years of skydiving training and experience. - Courage Summiting Everest after years of training and experience. - Courgage Shooting oneself into the air in a never-tested-before steam powered rocket built by amateurs in a garage. - Madness
  21. Wow. That is really pretty slick. Very nice work.
  22. I might be the only one, but I really liked the slowed down version of the Police's song, Don't Stand So Close to Me '86.
  23. Just for the benefit of our viewing audience. Those instructions are from the Wagon Rod.
  24. Really terrific work. Very creative and done well. I'm guessing you vacu-formed the roof?
