  1. Yeah, it's a '64 but you get the idea.
  2. I have many in the works, BUT ONLY ONE MODEL ON THE BENCH AT A TIME!!!!!! In the past I built like you do and misplaced more parts than I can count. It's just not worth the headache.
  3. Very nicely done. I like it.
  4. I've often wondered what possesses a person to build a 1000+ HP anything and then say they want it for street use? It was 2800-ish pounds in stock trim. She's likely quite a bit lighter now, so hp to lbs. ratio is a little crazy. Not one person in a 100 has the stuff to drive this safely. The builder likely does, but you know this will cross the block at Barrett Jackson within three years, and some knucklehead with more money than sense will end up behind the wheel.
  5. Okay, loooks like I'm finally gonna get some painting weather this week, starting tomorrow. Yesterday was a nice clear and warm-ish day, the wind started to die down, so I get all my parts together for some primer, opened the door and it was snowing. In any case. I'm finally got my roof rack respectable looking. I've got the tool boxes, jerry cans, and crates started. Pics soon!
  6. I'll bet that '40 Ford pickup chassis would fit right in there with a minor wheelbase adjustment.
  7. I quite agree. I'd like to see how the 392 looks in the model. Supposedly it's 1/24 but I'd be interested in how it measures out.
  8. Very nice work. I like it a lot.
  9. Me too.
  10. I approve. Looks spot on. And I know what you mean.
  11. If you have trouble with the chassis, the chassis from the AMT '70 Superbee Pro-street will pop in there dang near perfectly.
  12. I dig it. Keep her goin!
  13. I like the lower exhaust like Bruce suggested, but shorten up the pipe between the header an muffler. You gotta leave room for a person to get in/out without risking a burn ward visit. I don't know how I've missed this thread until just now, but I really like the work going on here. Great stuff.
  14. I'd go ahead and dunk them in some paint remover (see several threads on the subject). If they were glued AFTER paint, it might solve the problem. If they were glued before painting it might still loosen the glue enough to separate the pieces, depending on the adhesive. I've seen both happen many times.
  15. That's awesome. Thanks for posting it. I'm sure thats a well tuned machine.
  16. Looks good Jeff. The steelies and lil hemi give it a classic look.
  17. I have pals in my local club with kits in the 1000's. It blows my mind. That many kits would drive me crazy. Every day I didn't build, would make me feel guilty for the expense not being utilized. I have kept my stash to about 85, and when I read threads like these it makes me very happy that I have.
  18. I think you did a terrific job. Definitely captures the low-buck Saturday afternoon special. Well done.
  19. I have done very well with the Bragdon weathering chalks and acrylic craft paint washes. https://www.bragdonent.com/weather.htm
  20. Very very nice. I like it. Super clean.
  21. Pat, this green thing has become a habit, and I do appreciate it. Ash, she's looking good. Well I'm finally back a the bench. The roof rack was really throwing me for a loop. It's a centerpiece of the build and I really didn't want to half-asp it. But I have got if figured out. When I'm stumped on a design issue, I avoid the bench until I've got it figured out. I thought for a while of just strapping down a tire on the hood like you see on the 1:1 racers, but who knows what the tire material would do to the paint and plastic over time. So I had to come up with a rack that wouldn't look out of place on a '51 Chevy. One would think there would be all sorts of JC Whitney examples from the time frame, but not so much. And of the few I have found they certainly don't look like they could stand up to the P2P. More soon.
  22. Correct. However I might not have explained it well. I've revised the thread title and original post.
  23. Unless you are super married to the idea that the tires have to be BF Goodrich, this is an option for you. AMT also has a parts pack with Goodyear Polyglass GTs with raised white lettering.
