  1. One can almost understand when it comes to potentially high ticket items like that, but I've seen this sort of behavior with silly things like, photos, hats and beanie babies of all things. I don't get people sometimes.
  2. Man, I dig that.
  3. My favorite was my first, a '75 Olds Delta 88 2 door. Very nostalgic, lots of great memories. The best was a '98 Dodge Stratus. Four cylinder. And I say that because, though she wasn't that fast, but she was just that reliable. With regular maintenance, she never once left me stranded, never a no-crank in the morning. She never let me down for near 200,000 miles. Eventually the head gasket blew and that was that. Great car though, she handled well in all conditions with decent tires on her. Comfortable too. That all-important elbow/door to hand/steering wheel distance was perfect.
  4. You have my attention.
  5. Yep. this kit is double tough to get low. When I did mine, I left a rake simply because I didn't want to deal with the chassis mods needed to get it low.
  6. Updated is tough to do without going with a lower profile tire. Several of the Revell California Wheels kits have modern wheels/tires but aren't super-low profile, and might be what you are looking for.
  7. I had a '73 Scamp with a 198ci slant. She was super easy to work on and always did right by me. I'd planned to swap in a 318 or 340 police engine when the Diplomats were replaced by newer police cars, but they were never made available to the public where I was living. I sold her when the family seriously needed a four door. I miss that car.
  8. Resto-mods and pro-touring are very popular. So right off the top of my head, modern wheel/tire sets, remote gauge accessories, modern engines from each of the big three. Ford 5.2 Coyote, Dodge 6.2 Hemi , Chevy LT5, all supercharged of course. A real nice set of aftermarket style disc brakes. Turbos, pro-chargers, etc, etc. Fender flares to fit some of their more popular muscle cars. Combined with wheels/tires like some of the Asian companies are making available for their tuner kits.
  9. Man, I really like this model. Drilling all those holes must have been tedious. Excellent work.
  10. Since I stated this thread seven years ago, my work has shifted to the hot rod more than anything. My go-to's are any of the Revell 32's, the '29 and '30 Model A's. The Phantom Vicky. Also a couple of the recent Revell '57 Fords have donated their outstanding Y-Blocks to my cause.
  11. Ugh. they were already glued up when I noticed. I don't really care enough to risk breaking suspension parts to fix it. Thanks Rick. I'm a big fan of the I-6's too. They are just such a break from the norm. I've put three chevys into various hot rods, but this is my first slant 6. I've owned one in 1:1 years ago and I'm a fan.
  12. Some more work on the intake, it's nearly there. I wish I'd known more about turbo set-ups when I started this. I'd have done this differently. A top mounted intercooler would have been a much better idea, and the intake would have been a different shape , fitting with the turbo better. Live and learn. That's my body color. I'm going to do a slightly distressed patina finish with some hot rod door art.
  13. More work on the intake. If I was going to do this again, I'd do this very differently. A top mounted intercooler would have been much more appropriate here. So the intake shape would have been very different. I'm going to do a pale green color with some patina and hot rod door art.
  14. Very nicely done. I dig the the wood graining in the interior.
  15. Looked for one in the usual places when I started my Willys, but there were none to be had.

  17. Wow. Very impressive. Your detailing is top shelf. I've seldom seen badging and scripts done so cleanly. The metal ring on the steering wheel is perfect. What did you use?
  18. I think that with some scratch-building, the Minicraft Model A's and the AMT '57 and '55 Nomad kits, you might be able to come up with something interesting, but man it would be an expensive undertaking.
  19. I think too much would have to be redone to make this a viable reissue. Minimum, the entire interior replaced, wheels/tires replaced, billet engine pieces replaced with something finned/period looking. Even then it's a gamble.
  20. You're IN! Nice to see all the new faces (err.....avatars) in the Cannonball.
  21. Yep. It's a top notch kit. Nice work on that one. i dig the color.
  22. Yep. When I put a Chevy inline 6 into the Revell '30 Ford, it required a 3/8 (ish) frame stretch. It's not hard to do. I'd pick up a Revell '29 roadster and use that chassis though. It works real well with the Revell pickup kit.
  23. Glad to hear it. I'd like to apologize for these two roosters, more interested in crowing than a quiet barnyard. Geez guys, take it to PM if you wanna squawk.
