  1. If you've got an expensive kit and don't plan on using primer as a shield, I would strongly suggest AVOIDING using any lacquer thinners to mix into the paint! At the very least I would practice on junk plastic from the kit (not spoons) to be 110% sure it would work. The damage isn't worth the risk.
  2. Isn't that a CGI of the car? Not sure how accurate this is. But using clips from the movie, regardless of what the real color is, it looks like Curious Yellow to me.
  3. Personally, I'm so over the black wheels and tires thing. So I'd say worn, weathered, white, work wheels will work wonderfully!
  4. This whole project:
  5. Early Glosscote is notorious for peeling with tape, it doesn't adhere to the painted surface. You could continue peeling off the clear with more tape and wipe off the remaining clear with 70% rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball or Qtip. Did you put the decals on "under" or "over" the clearcote?
  6. All that dirt and not a speck of rust. Can't be a real Mopar!! ?
  7. Take care of them and hug your wife, that's a nice gift!
  8. Looks like the car from the movie "Cobra" Actually, it looks BETTER than the car from the movie! Clean build.
  9. This is great! I gotta know where the interior is from? I know the body is Revell. Wheels are 53 Ford Victoria and chassis is.... Camaro?
  10. Wheels in dirty white or black for a work truck. And ditch the goofy stickers!
  11. Great job! Color looks awesome.
  12. Probably gonna have to "back-half" it. Cut away the rear part of the frame and floorpan and graft on the rear subframe from a pro street kit to get everything to be roadworthy. That'll also entail modifying the backseat area for the tubs. Not impossible, It's been done many times before. Or you might find another chassis that fits intact. Try the 67 Prostreet Chevelle.
  13. Cool site, thanks for sharing. I'd be interested in knowing about the chrome bodied 66 GTO. Never seen one of those before. I see a bunch of old kits just dumped in a tote. If they're in the way, I'd be glad to take them so he could have more room! Just wanting to be helpful. ?
  14. While tinkering around with a DoH Jeep (Daisy edition), I found out it's not possible to make an accurate Daisy Jeep from this kit. This kit is a CJ5, Daisy's Jeep was a CJ7 which has a longer wheelbase and squared up door openings. CJ5 CJ7 My question is this, I'd like to know what year (if any) the kit represents? The kit has the fuel filler next to the driver's door. But there are CJ5s with no filler there, just a indentation or smoothed off. I've found some have the filler in the back. Both of these are claimed to be 1970 model year. With filler No filler, indented 1978. No filler, no indentation. Also looks like front fenders are longer I checked 69, 70, 71, 73, and 75 model years and found variations with all of them. I don't know if there is a cut off year for one then the other. Was there a final year for the side mount filler? What was the first year for the dash pad? When did the roll bar mount change from the rear wells to the floor? Any other model year details would be welcome! I don't know much about the differences. I need information for the CJ5, not the CJ7.
  15. I found that the wrecker body fits perfectly on the AMT SnapFast 96 Dodge Ram Dually pickup. If you have one, check it out!
  16. Looks great. Just needs to have the openings in the hood scoop blacked out.
  17. With the cats and smog equipment removed on the vehicles! LOL
  18. The sequels were lame, just didn't have the chemistry of the first one. Not sure what Hal Needham was thinking on the second one. If the first had a sense of an urgency, a deadline to meet and that the law was chasing the outlaw, then what was the slow, casual, uneventful pace for running an elephant to a political event? The plot didn't even make sense. Watching it, you can tell even Burt Reynolds wasn't believing the story. I would have rather seen the Sheriff in hot pursuit of them running to Boston for some clam chowder. At least that would have been a logical conclusion to the original.
  19. I'm surprised they were able to find that many 67 4dht's left to fill out the shows. As well as clean 80s era chrome pinwheel type rims for them all. After 50 years, It's not like that many people collect 4 door hardtops. They're not 69 Chargers or 78 Trans Ams, after all!
  20. Or the 72 GMC Stepside. That one still hurts! Why did they do that?

  22. I'm diggin' the chopped phaeton and the delivery on the bottom! ??
  23. Since "Plum Crazy" wasn't available until 1970 - I would call this a YEAR two car!! I do like the color combo though.
