Thanks Al. I'm happy with our trade. Sorry about the brain fart, I thought I included everything in the first box.

I'll pass. That's a gimmick I don't need. I like the truck though.
-
Love it! Looks great. What color did you use? I have a couple wagons in the queue and this one is inspiring me.
-
Whew, now I can breathe again! How were the scripts and trim? Good detail? Al Rich (thatz4u) has some 66 hearse parts for trade - including a dash. Maybe you can work out a deal with him for it.
-
Nice work so far. I built one of those back then and don't recall many build issues. I liked all the opening features. Just take your time, it looks good when finished!

Glad to help you find your parts. I'm happy with the trade. Looking forward to trade with you again.

Now this is something to think about when Round 2 reissues "The Californian" kit. -
Well done. Love the color choices. But why does the license plate tell me to "Buy 12"? Subliminal messaging from Tamiya.

Wow, that's bad! -
Great pics, thanks for sharing! I enjoy seeing old candid shots of the park. Gives such an insight to what was as the guests saw it.

I personally dig the Nomad a lot more!

Nah, on the contrary, Barris would just "mistakenly" take credit for other builder's work.
-
Actually, it was Harry Bradley's brainchild, so I guess it would be an em"Bradley"ment. Ahem, sorry. Oh yes they did! A fuselage luxo-custom with the roof hacked off. What a bathtub! Sometimes I wonder WTH Barris was smoking?

I thought you meant it was going to be SOLD in Target! I haven't seen kits there in decades!

I have the box out, I'll have to look at getting back into it. Thanks for the props!

It's funny, when they were in business, their product lineup was pretty much ignored as being too boring, too odd and just not popular. Looking back, I wish I would have bought more of them. In the 80s they were available for five dollars each. I bought the muscle cars and Cadillacs, but the early 60's Mopars were just too ugly for me to take seriously. Now I'd want to collect them all for the unique subjects that they are! Like Steve said, the bodies were the strength of Johan. Once built, they looked exactly like the prototype from the outside. Fine engraving and lots of detail. Ahh, if we could only go back in time.

So then the engine is not "numbers matching"? I guess it'll never be eligible for Bloomington Gold certification. Ah well, it'll still make a great driver. Looking good!

Nothing says you can't do a "Custom Deluxe" pickup. Might look really classy with all the chrome bling added to it.
