  1. Thanks for your comments! Yes indeed, Tamiya Racing White is a much warmer, creamier kind of white than I'd expected. And I used it over white primer, so it couldn't have been toned down by that. But if you compare it to the Butternut Yellow/ Mayfair Maize color on the 65 GTO on he last image, you will find there is quite a difference compared to light yellow, so it's fine by me.
  2. Hi folks, I finished another one. This is first Polar Lights kit I built. It's one from the series of pre-painted (snap) kits, although "painted" is rather inadequate given the fact that the body was just black plastic covered with clear coat. Anyways, I stripped the clear off and did my first ever white paint job on a model, using Tamiya white primer and Racing White paint. Here we go: Taking a spin on a sunny day, along with his younger brother ('65 AMT)...
  3. Many thanks guys!
  4. Many thanks for your comments, appreciated!
  5. Many thanks folks!
  6. Thanks for you comments, guys!
  7. I agree. However, to my knowledge, Fujimi did not do a kit of that gen Camaro (they did the gen before), but Arii did the 82 vintage.
  8. Another great model, Steve. I enjoyed following the WIP (and learning a little here and there ? ) as I enjoy looking at the fabulous result!
  9. Wow, that’s a great build - the best one I‘ve seen of this gen Camaro! Excellent engine and all the details you created add to the great result! Given the extreme shine of the body color, I reckon you used 2k clear?
  10. Hi there, in times of the virus, the only good thing is that you get things done at home. I just finished this restoration of the Buick Wildcat '66 Hasegawa kit. Very simplistic kit but I like it's shape of the body.
  11. Hi there, nice builds! I especially like Geno's 58 Impala! Myself, I got another resto done. Buick Wildcat '66, the Hasegawa kit. More images in the Under Glass section.
  12. Hi Ludwig, you created a beautiful beast there! Very nice overall job, the color suits this mean machine perfectly. I like this much better than the typical Baldwin Motion look!
  13. Nice Charger, like it!
  14. Great build, beautiful details that have been skillfully added!
  15. Thanks for all your kind feedback! Thanks Kurt! I use aluminium wire end ferrules for this. Thanks Bill and David. I agree, I think the color is a nice choice for this car. A nice and more elegant alternative to those bright "Big Bad" colors (which I also like). Thanks Robert. I used Tamiya TS-94 Metallic Grey over white primer. I found the color not to be an easy one, as it did not cover the white primer as easily as I hoped.
  16. Clean build, well done!
  17. Hi there, another restoration completed...
  18. Hi Kurt, just curious, how much $ does it cost to have a frame like that "chrome-treated"?
  19. I have found the Revell 62 Corvette Roadster to be the best US car (full) kit I have built so far. Absolutely no issues but great details.
  20. Nice Chevy, I like it!
  21. Hi Dann, nice to see you back at it! M,self, I get a lot of pleasure from building those "simple" kits once in a while, too. Correcting the obvious errors and adding the desired details... Of course, you take that detailing to another level as usual, but that is just why it's such fun watching your WIP's!
  22. Thanks for your feedback! I appreciate the criticism and have to agree you are right on both points. I might be tempted to do some correctional work on this build, also with regard to the exhaust pipes which happen to be a bit too big in size...
  23. Thanks guys! Well, obviously, there are several opinions about the "goofy" headlights I understand that because (to me) they significantly change the optics of the car. However I tend to disagree with Snake here, I think they add a touch of aggressiveness that the car is normally lacking IMHO. When I first saw an image of a Riviera with the headlights opened, I decided that my build should have that too. Plus this offers some kind of a solution for showing the hood open. @Lee: I made the lights using pieces of Evergreen tube in 7.1 mm diameter which I further drilled open for a bigger diameter to make the aftermarket lenses fit in.
  24. Hi folks, this is a restoration of a built lowrider kit I purchased some time ago. I used automotive paint from the can and 1k clear, quite pleased with how the color resembles contemporary Buick Turquoise Mist.
  25. Nice snake! Well done!
