  1. Interesting... I found this in some kit paper work that came with a vintage used parts lot I bought some time ago. Perhaps our young engineer was designing his entry for this contest?
  2. Testor's liquid cement. Brings me back to 1960 or so sitting at the kitchen table "helping" my father put together the then new Revell VW Micro bus and 59 Skyliner. Priceless.
  3. I dream about garage sale scores like that.....only with older kits. Good work!
  4. Is there a way to filter individual sellers from your search? If not I sure wish there was!
  5. Absolutely raw diamonds! Thanks for sharing.
  6. Thanks all for your good words on this build. I appreciate it!
  7. That's the best build of this kit I've ever seen. Well done John!
  8. This fought me every step of the way but I'm finally calling it done. Here it is, warts and all. I started with this forlorn old JoHan build up And after a little work my journey ended up here
  9. Beautiful. Well done.
  10. Geez what a mess. Kind of looks like it got partially submerged in salt water during that police chase then put away wet.
  11. Gorgeous! Great resto work!
  12. Good question Glen. Honestly I have no idea. Anyone?
  13. A few of my Mustang builds. 67 GT converted to a 390 GTA Revell 69 Mach 1 converted to a Boss 302
  14. My 1:1. With pedigree. 20K miles. Got a few mods, It's fast.
  15. It was in the box of a vintage partial built up and some parts a picked up not long ago. As far as it still being good the tube is still soft but it's not open so I really don't know. Just a cool display piece.
  16. I almost always buy vintage built ups for the purpose of rebuilding/restoring them. Lately though, I'm starting to appreciate some of them as a type of "folk art" and worth preserving or enhancing. That's the route I took with this 40 coupe I bought. It just didn't look finished to me so...I dug up some vintage period perfect parts and decals from my stash and finished it. It's displayed with this original box that I had. Then there's some builds like this Lincoln, that I think looks great just the way it is, I just cleaned it up a little and will probably stay like this.
  17. Don't beat yourself up over it. Any finished build is an accomplishment! If you learned even one skill, technique or "what not to do" you can carry over to the next build it was worth the time and effort.
  18. A few I still have lurking around in primer. Gonna finish 'em one of these days!
  19. No need to be confuseded. I think what Skip is saying is that he takes the time to answer someones question and never gets so much as thank you. It's just a basic courtesy issue and I agree. I'm sure I'll be corrected rather swiftly if I am wrong here.
  20. Some box art mistakes, from the 60's. It happened then, it happens now.
  21. Suppose 3D printing gets advanced enough to become mainstream and makes injection molded styrene kits obsolete. Would all molded styrene kits then become collectible at some point?
  22. Great job, especially on the wood, It looks real.
