Jeep Pickup From Scooby Doo
spencer1984 replied to oldcarfan's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Nicely done, that turned out great! -
Built from the Aoshima kit. Overall it's a good kit, but there are a few oddities like how they split the body along the character line (the lower halves were part of the chassis) and a fully greebled trunk with no opening deck lid. These were offset by the myriad working features including the steering, camera, saw blades, auto jacks, and homing robot. I cut the lower sides off the chassis and made a complete body before painting, opened the trunk, detailed the engine, and added disc brakes all around. A full writeup of everyhing I did is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome!

Show your iconic Custom Car/Hot Rod replicas
spencer1984 replied to Koellefornia Kid's topic in Model Cars
I do technically have aCadZZilla, but it's the Hot Wheels diecast that I got to go with my Monogram Eliminator: Here are a few more that I think fit the "iconic hot rod" look: Milner's Coupe, American Graffiti Cobra's Merc, Cobra T-Birds' White Lightning, Grease Van Halen's Phaeton, Hot for Teacher Duke's Corvette, Hot Rods to Hell -
Very clean work on this!

Nice touch with the bumpers, and yeah - that engine bay is a little rough. Cool build!

Thanks, guys! That was one comment I kept seeing over and over when I was reading about the kit, that the stance wasn't right if built box stock. I really tried to get it as close as I could, thanks!
