  1. Very effective way to display and enjoy a model collection.
  2. I don't think I've ever seen a farm with a stream anywhere near the buildings. Sometimes a pond, but if a stream were connected it could be off in a direction away from the section where the buildings are concentrated.
  3. What is the scale of the Model A series?? Your models look beautiful and I'd like to know if the scale matches Danbury diecast.
  4. I'm not a trucker or a builder, but my impression has me looking for the larger sleeper on the shorter wheelbase. Proportions might look better regardless of any other considerations. This combo is not shown.
  5. My body will take care of everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzunOgYHeyg
  6. UV light exposure kills it. Sunlight has it. Might be why flu sort of goes away during summer months. Antibacterial UV lamps are sold with the most effective wavelengths.
  7. My pipe dream diorama subject. Currently don't have any build bench or even a place to put one so have to bear the shame of buying. I'll be looking for a similar diorama building kit.
  8. Binge buying results. I did buy one outside of the group, a 1955 Chevy Belair convertible, just to see the working hood hinges.
  9. My Danbury Mint buying binge has ended with last four expected to deliver today. I limited focus to 1925 to 1935 mostly Fords. Only one Holy Grail model that I'd like to get. These models are not common in plastic kit form and generally not popular subjects on this forum but they sure are nice. Photo is the one I don't have.
  10. Got a DM 1931 Model A phaeton with real nifty wire wheels and black wall tires. I like them better than the coupe's white walls.
  11. I have to use Inkscape to convert an image file to vector format and I think Inkscape allows adjusting the number of points on curves. Haven't the foggiest notion what Cricut's limits are with scale reduction. Really small stuff runs into machine rigidity limitations and stepper motor resolution. My machine is a new Cricut Maker and has failed to cut out the bolt holes on 1/25 scale Flathead Ford head gaskets using the drag knife. But if it will do a single point scratch, no trailing knife offset to contend with, then I might be able to scratch through paint on copper foil and use etchant to do the cut through. Big if.
  12. The cutter follows a vector path like a CNC machine so dots per inch isn't relevant, I think. Cricut has an engraving tip that is a sharp point and I'll order one. It looks sturdy enough. I'm going to give it a try with india ink instead of paint and on clear pvc instead of styrene (I don't have styrene sheet). Been playing with micro LEDs and want to see if I can backlight it. I don't see why black letters on white couldn't be done, if my machine proves as capable as yours. It would be simply black washing engraved white material. Where did you get the vector file???? Many thanks for the inspiration. Cricut engrave tip
  13. I'm surprised the scrapbook cutter can trace that small. I like your style.
  14. The binge results, the T or the wheels?? I find it interesting that these DM "collectibles" can be had for far less than the original price even though they are no longer produced.
  15. Etchant is usually ferric chloride and if it doesn't affect the vinyl adhesive it should work. The ferric chloride is available premixed on Amazon and has relatively safe disposal methods. I bought all the stuff to do dry transfers using laser printed images on transfer paper and heat pressing onto the brass.
  16. I got a damaged DM 1925 Model T a couple weeks ago. Liked the model so got another and then went on a buying binge. Detail is good, but it's the wheels that really turn my crank.
  17. I did the Hackaday thing with a dental scaler and it didn't do well at all on printer supports. For the really small ones I get the best results with my serrated scalpel approach along with sprue cutters.
  18. Yep, windshield opens. Also found the coupe has a plumbed and wired engine including spark plug straps while roadster doesn't. Quite a difference.
  19. Top of my favorite Fords list. This DM has real wire spokes while the roadster versions have molded plastic, thicker, spokes.
  20. I suspect there will be some devious hackers that will make it their life's mission to develop a hand held jamming device that will "play" with the vehicle's sensing electronics. Google "carpet tacks in bike lanes" and you will see what evil devious folks are capable of.
  21. My router is a dual band so supposedly I can create a separate 2.4Ghz network without disturbing the 5Ghz one. Easier said than done at my age.
  22. That superb interior may get somewhat hidden but there are folks that that will take the time to peer into the windows and enjoy what they see. Besides that we all get to see it in spades right here on the forum. Someday Steve may decide to go back and figure a way to open the doors. He may even figure a way to install an LED working dome light.
  23. Durn things require 2.4Ghz wifi and mine is 5Ghz.
