Back to square 18 or so.? I don’t know what was wrong with my eyes while painting this. It turns out there was all sorts of trash on the surface, and still a low spot on the fender?. It is totally my fault and I can’t blame AMT for this mess.? I spent the morning cleaning my paint booth (and I’m not done yet), since it is absolutely filthy. The duplcolor primer/sealer that I put on after the Tamiya pink really made stripping it easy. Thanks for the recommendation Steven!?

You’re getting there Calvin. It’s looking good. The script decals: if they are the correct size, I will file or sand the script smooth but not completely off. If the decals don’t match closely then sand the script completely off and use the decal.

I agree with everyone…nice weathering and detailing. I like the tubing for plug boots idea too.?

I think that is just styrofoam sm. Any building supply store would have 2’x8’ sheets in different thicknesses.

I got the first half of the two tone paint done. The bottom is Testors Blazing Black. The top half I will try for the first time to spray some reddish nail polish that I have. The last time I tried a two tone job, I wound up with masking tape marks…so I’m gonna let this sit in the dehydrator for a while before masking.?

I gave it a coat of Mr.Hobby semi gloss clear. I came out glossier than I was aiming for…but the more I look at it the more I don’t mind it.?

Thanks Guys. The color is Khorne Red by Citadel. I bought it years ago for a Mercedes 540K project that got stalled. I didn’t realize until I started spraying it how close it is to red oxide primer. I was going to do a satin clear over it, but maybe a gloss would look better??

I bought this can of primer from Canadian Tire the other day. Shook it for a couple of minutes and popped the lid off to find this.? Someone must have previously returned it or test sprayed it in the store. It would not even spit for me. So…back to the store tomorrow.

I glued the headlight bezels on already. They didn’t fit the fender contours very well anymore, so I filled the gaps with a little Milliput. They will get either BMF or brush painted with Chrom after paint. The fender welting is on also as well as the windshield divider.

Roadhouse (2024) An absolutely STUPID remake! The acting is BAD and the script is ridiculous. After beating up the biker gang that is hired to harass the owner of the road house…Dalton (Jake Gyllenhaal) gives them all a ride to the hospital and one of them thanks him for the ride???? Yeah…totally believable.?

I have used the Zinnser shellac based primer for sealing bodywork. There is also a Duplicolor primer sealer that I have not yet tried. I imagine either of those should be a barrier against bleed through. Has anyone here tried them on a red molded kit?
