Really nice work all around, but that paint and foil job is beautiful!? -
Excellent work Tom, it is looking beautiful!?

Sometimes I find tailgaters just a bit annoying, like when I’m driving the F250….other times when I am in the Miata.???

It can depend on the brand of wire and how thick the insulation is too. The 30AWG that I use for plug wires is 0.020” o.d. A bit large technically, but it looks fine in my eyes.

You can never have too many models.

There are not enough “left turn” (flashing green) lights in our city….and some of them are not long enough. That said it is amazing how many people just follow the last vehicle through on a solid red light. Meanwhile, I am on their left waiting to go on my green light and can’t because of one, two, sometimes even three impatient idiots.

I take it those are for bending photo etch hinges? Where do you get the hinges from, and how durable are they?

From a quick google search I believe that if it was a 225, it would be the same engine as the Buick 225. I don’t know about the paint. The MPC Mount N’ Goat kit does have the early 225 V6. Some earlier Jeepster kits could also likely have one?

Thanks Mathias Thanks David. I only fixed a couple pet peeves I have. This kit cries out for a LOT more detailing, but it started out as an OOB build and quickly deviated.? Oh well I still have two Cameo kits that I will definitely put in the extra efforts.? Thanks Bob. I’m happy with it.? I wish I had sprayed a coat of smoke on the wheels to dull them a bit? Thanks David.? -

Now that’s a workhorse! Super nice job on this Dennis.? -
This is my first attempt at a weathered finish. This is actually a pretty nice kit. A little basic but a nice easy build….except for the windshield which doesn’t fit, so I stole the one from the Cameo kit.? Thanks for looking, all comments welcome.? The side mirrors sure had big mold lines and ejector pin marks, plus big sink marks on the mirror surfaces. So I cleaned them up and sanded the mirrors flat, installed a short pin to locate them on the doors and painted them with Molotow. I have used the foil from inside a Kit Kat bar wrapper for mirrors before. I didn’t have the exact size punch required, so I used the next smaller size. I painted the plastic surface with XF-85 rubber black and stuck the foil to it….I hope it stays put.? the black around the edge looks like a gasket.? Help in disassembly of a built model
NOBLNG replied to slusher's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi Carl. Good to hear from you. What type or glues did you use to assemble it? Super glue joints can be undone using a “debonder”, but it will destroy chrome. If you used a glue like Tamiya thin or the old Testors tube glue….good luck. A good set of photo etch saws can be used to cut some joints apart and they will remove next to no material. -

I thinned down the side emblems since they were about 1-1/2” thick in 1:1 scale. I also opened up the grill. The headlights in the kit were a bit small for the bezels so I made a set. Just the side mirrors and license plates left to do.?
