  1. Catostomidae are also common up here in the Red River which flows north and empties into Hudsons Bay.
  2. Wow Thierry! Amazing attention to detail you demonstrate! Your scratch building skills are impressive too. I just found this thread while searching this car and only skimmed it. Now I’m going back to read every word and study the pics. Thanks for documenting this beautiful build!?
  3. Good results can be as rewarding as a successful paint job on a model….I guess? I THINK I have it beat? I primed the damaged area with Zinnser BIN shellac to seal it (the leaking window was previously replaced). Then I filled the joint with some Sheetrock 90 setting compound. When that was hardened I gave the whole area a skim coat of the 90 and embedded a strip of fiberfuse tape (I think it works WAY better than the paper tape!) over the joint, then more 90 over the tape. When hardened, sand, more 90, sand repeat. I thought it looked good until I shone my flashlight along the wall.? Sand, sand, more mud….?
  4. This has been going on for a few days. The wife and I are painting the living room. I discovered a perfectly vertical hairline crack under one of the windows.? The drywall tape apparently let loose from one side of the joint ( which was not on a stud like it should be).? One thing leads to another and… Some of the paper delaminated from the gypsum core also.? Drywall repair has got to be top of my list of hated chores.?
  5. (Sorry posted in wrong thread…edited but too late?)
  6. Horses are a favourite of my wifes sister.
  7. I like to have an operating tailgate if possible, but that doesn’t look like an easy one to do. I’m sure it will be a real looker when you are done with it Bob.?
  8. We’ll let you get away with it this time Steven.? Seriously, with all the fantastic detailing on this thing, no one will notice or care.?
  9. I think there are quite a few users who don’t know where the edit button is or how to use it.?
  10. That turned out REALLY nice Mathias!? What is this strictly OOB system you speak of??
  11. cause they can tell it’s you calling???
  12. It looks to me like the carbs are indeed rochesters. The transmission is a 700R4. HaHa, I just looked and I put the manual shift pattern decal on my shifter.? Most mechanical fuel pumps have a filter between the pump and the carbs, but I don’t see why it couldn’t be mounted on the firewall. Just more plumbing? Electric pumps would have a filter in the tank and possibly another before the carbs? What the common setup on hotrods was back in the day I am not certain…sorry. Edit: Each carb would have its own filter at the fuel inlet too, similar to this.
  13. Stratosphere is where I’d like my ashes scattered.
  14. I used a Tamiya photo etch saw for this chop. First I made parallel scribe lines where I wanted the cuts to be. The more accurate you are with the cuts, the less filing, filling and sanding to do. I don’t have pics of my ‘32 chop, but I think I used an exacto razor saw on it.
  15. It wasn’t easy.? I wound up trimming a bit off the corners of the door panels too. I think I may have done something wrong in order to wind up with such a large gap?? So don’t judge it strictly on my experience. Do some test fitting early on to save yourself some grief. JMHO.
  16. Second one is available on Amazon.?
  17. The windshield is thick and may need some trimming so that the interior tub will fit. It can cause issues with the floor pan meeting up with the firewall. And, like keef said install the engine and subframe after the body is on. Good luck with it!? My build thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/133121-amt-70-12-camaro/page/2/#comment-2381071
  18. It looks good just like that. I’m sure a lot of those old trucks got the bed swapped for one in better shape.?
  19. Sweet looking old truck!?
  20. Persistence, for someone indulging in this hobby, is a required personality trait.
  21. I agree about the fitment and instructions on this kit.? It looks like you got it together quite nicely though.?
  22. Nice work.? I like the colour combo. You sure can’t lose it in the parking lot.?
  23. You can do it any way you prefer, but I think you would be making a lot of extra work if you mess with the pinion end.? I think it would be relatively easy to file off the diff cover and scratch up a new one. You could also try saving it by slicing it off with a photo etch saw? If you mess it up you’re no farther behind. I searched a lot and never found a nice direct top view of a real diff.? It is indeed a slippery slope….on modification leads to another.?
  24. Band problems killed my old automatic transmission.
