It has been a day of starts and stops for me. Starts because I made a mold of three different batteries that I sanded the tapered sides vertical. One of them I added larger terminals and I also scratch built an Optima. Stops because I made a mold of two different sizes of disc brake rotors and calipers. Now to make some casts!?
I’m not into wild customs, but when I clicked on this thread and saw the first pic…I said WOW! All the mods you did just seem to work.? And the pics just get better and better! Fantastic work all around!??
Nice work. Like Andrew said…it takes me that long to decide on colors.? I’ve built this one and I agree about the orange plastic.? It seems “soft” compared to every other model I’ve built….and the flash was horrible.? Yours looks pretty darn good considering the kit and the time constraints.
Jeez…I thought you were going to say he was no longer with us.? He’s done well to be touring up till now. My late brother and one of my uncles had Parkinson’s. One reason I got back into this hobby is to keep track of my own stability.
Fine work going on here Kit! I am really liking the overall concept.? The direct side shot makes the box seem to be a bit high in my mind though. JMHO.
I’ll follow along too. I had a couple of ‘68 Biscaynes with the 250 six and three in the tree. One was my Dads and I took my drivers test in it. The other I bought from a buddy.
I have one of these kits that I haven’t opened yet. I take it those tail lights are molded in, not separate pieces? The ones in the ‘64 lowrider I did were separate, but so over-sized and un-uniform, that I wound up making my own.?
Great job Charles. Your attention to detail is outstanding. With the right background and photography technique, your stuff could pass for real 1:1 vehicles.
Yes.
??? I don’t recall an airbrush ever exploding.? The fumes created by spraying lacquer or solvent based paints may ignite if they are in high enough concentration and exposed to a spark or flame though.
