  1. Yes, the radiator opening scales out to 15” square which is less than half as wide as it should be and a couple of inches shorter.? This support is molded as part of the body. It has a few features on the inside also which are pretty much indistinguishable.?
  2. Thanks. Thats what I figured. I have no AC going in, so I’ll smooth it right down. The horns are actually located inside the cradle to the left of the rad on a 1:1. I’m not familiar with that kit, but the rivets could suggest that.
  3. I bent up some 3/32” plastruct tubing for a roll cage with some soft wire shoved inside. It bends beautifully, but the moment I touched the bend with some Tamiya quick set, the styrene split. I eventually used CA for my cage which does not cause a problem. But then I tried another test. After bending I just quickly passed it over the flame of a butane lighter. The flame took all the tension out of the styrene. The middle bend has also had the quickset applied…but no cracking at all. I imagine it would work for solid rod also if it is prone to cracking.
  4. Please excuse my lack of mechanical knowledge….but what are all these molded in features on the support supposed to be and do they belong there? I’ve tried googling images and the best I can come up with are some screenshots from videos and they all look pretty smooth. I am going to install a larger radiator and will likely just sand them off, but I am curious.?
  5. My thoughts exactly! There is no shortage of people willing to drive vehicles. The authorities just need to tighten up the requirements for getting a license. It is NOT a basic right.
  6. Looking good.? But I think your steering wheel needs to be cranked 180.?
  7. Wow, that thing is a BEAST!…just like the real ones.?
  8. Thanks Steve! My roof doesn’t appear to be warped at all. There are just no positive mounting points for it.? So I left the tabs in the corners of the windshield for pins where the factory bolts are located. I will also add brackets from the cage bars to the bedsides also, which will receive holes for pins. I will add tabs on the topper at these locations complete with the pins. That will make six positive mounting points that should keep the roof in place yet be an easy lift off for viewing the interior. At least that is my preliminary thought.?
  9. This is looking fantastic Ron! Your attention to detail is awesome.? I especially love that aluminum and basswood bed!?
  10. Excellent work. It takes me longer to decide what colour to paint something.?
  11. Good start! ? Nice job on the roof, and the fleetside does look best.?
  12. Thanks Carl. There was a .030” gap between the roof and the windshield frame, so I added a bit to the frame. I left a bit extra in the corners so I will have a place for pins to hold the top in place. I decided to try my hand at building a full roll cage. I used 3/32 plastruct tubing with some soft wire shoved inside. It turned out pretty good I think. Now if I can just fish it in and out a bunch of times without breaking it.?
  13. That blue does look nice on it indeed!?
  14. Sweet looking little ride! ?
  15. It does look great in that yellow!?
  16. Well done Anthony!?
  17. I save all the long straight pieces of sprue. I have mounted alligator clips on some in order to hold small parts. I will also file the ends of the sprue flat and attach it to small parts in an inconspicuous place with CA.
  18. This is some amazingly detailed work you are doing here Andrew! My hat’s off to you. This is going to be a thing of beauty!?
  19. Nice progress. The colours look good on it.?
  20. Nice start!? Stance looks good in my books.?
  21. Nice start!? I like that you separated the box from the cab. Revell should have made it that way in the first place.?
  22. That is a really fine piece of work! Great fab work and it’s a beauty too.?
  23. Wow, that is an ambitious project. It looks like you have a pretty good handle on it though.?
  24. Thanks Guys! I find this kit a little frustrating because it has some nice features…but it also has some issues. Scale issues as I mentioned previously. And stuff that is just missing, like brake master cylinder, gas and brake pedals, and….? Anyways, I’m trying to fix a couple of those deficits.? They give you a nice set of decals, but no guage decals!? I’m fiddling with dash now and If I can print some better guages it should look OK.
  25. I am a bit of a pack rat so I fold the empty boxes up and stuff them on the shelf.
