Really nice looking car. I wouldn’t spend that kind of money on it…even if I had it to spare.? You might be better off just scratch building the front end? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPudqM9chVk

It does look a lot better painted. I notice on the blue Nova that the back edge matches the slope of the windshield. I wonder if that would make it look sleeker on yours? Just a thought.? -
They have pretty strong spring, but would not even hurt if you clipped one on your lip…I wouldn’t do that with an alligator clip.?The jaws are smooth and would slip off of non-parallel surfaces, but….the tips can be easily bent to compensate or adapt to odd situations. That is the beauty of these, plus the relatively long reach. They are great for just holding things in place while glue sets.

Excellent repair work.?I think these are the best looking Mustangs.?

I’m not a fan of hood scoops at all… but I gotta say the cowl thing is just UGLY….on any car!? Sorry Roger, it’s your build and you can do what you like…but that’s JMO.? -

Yes, one of the scale finishes suppliers would be your best bet. This #9473 Copper is real close….but discontinued unfortunately.? -
Nice work on the headlights Dennis!? I really like these cars. I think GM had the best looking cars by far, of any makes in the early sixties.

Geez Bill….you’ve got some really interesting and awesome builds going on.?? Would you please?finish some so we can get the full effect!? Or….box em up and send them to me to finish…...you’ve done all the hard work already. ?

You’ve got a nice looking start on it Keith! That is my go to cement…I prefer it over CA for styrene-styrene joints. This kit actually builds up pretty nicely. It does have some issues though. Here’s a link to my build thread if you want to see the issues I had with it. Good luck with her!? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/133121-amt-70-12-camaro/page/2/#comments

I did a little work on the wheels today. I glued my copper inner rims onto the resin outers. I’m not a fan of solid wheel backs unless the outer rims are solid as well.? I added the resin hubs that I’ve cast to the wheel rims. Made some disc brake facsimiles from aluminum washers and styrene bits. And I sandblasted the tires to get rid of the sheen. -

Wow! That is a truly fantastic looking job Steve. -
I put the Wife’s summer tires back on her Jeep. I accidentally used a 13/16” instead of a 19mm on the impact when removing the first lug nut. It spun and rounded off the S/S “cladding”.? I couldn’t get a proper sized socket or lug wrench on it after that. I had to use a small chisel to remove the cladding.? It’s a pretty cheesy setup if you ask me and I’ll be replacing all of them soon with solid nuts.

I decided not to use the Rubicon rims because I can’t add locking hubs to them due to the small bolt circle. I have castings of the 8 lug GMC plow truck rims that I will use…again.? I can add the hubs to these rims and they fit the tires nicely. I don’t have any inner rims for them so I made some from 1/2” copper pipe.? I hope I can get the inners and outers bonded together well enough with CA or maybe epoxy? I have managed to get the axle tubes cut to proper width and mocked up. Next up is some brakes and possibly some steering components and then exhaust.? That’s it for now.? -

It looks like it’s been parked outside in the sun and rain for about 75 years! ? -
