The two sheets on the right arrived yesterday from Slater’s Plastikard. The two on the left I got last year but are too large of scale. I think I originally mis read how they scaled them 1:25 is not the same as 1/25 ? These are 8”x12” sheets and I ordered a few of each to be safe.?

I picked up these two tweezers for $6 in the male grooming section at Marshalls. I have two pairs that I use constantly...one doesn’t open very wide and the other is “magnetic” and frustrates me all the time. Hopefully these will be a treat.?

Harbor freight and Princess Auto are hit and miss at the very best. For 3 bucks you might get a few useful bits...but if you zoom in on the picture in your link you can see how well sharpened the smaller ones on the right are.? -

I bought a set of these recently at my local hobby shop. They are the best ones I have found so far. Vallejo T101002 Drill Set-wire gauge – sizes in U.S. inches Including sliding top index storage dispenser. Twenty high-speed steel drill bits with a handy slide-top box that releases only chosen drill bit. Drill numbers: 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 78,79, 80. -

I didn’t think it was possible to be less aerodynamic than a brick....but I guess I was wrong.? -
I don’t think any sprue cutter is going to stand up to any sort of steel wire. Soft aluminum, copper and brass maybe. That’s probably the best idea is to buy a chap set for hacking and a better set for precision work.?
-
I just use these cheapies. It’s my second pair since I wrecked the first ones by cutting wire.? I have often thought of buying a better pair but can’t bring myself to spend the coin. I just cut as close to the part as possible and trim any remainder with a hobby knife.

I decanted some paint this morning by spraying it through a large straw. A bit spattered on the rim of the paint bottle so I picked it up with a paper towel to wipe it off and....fumble!? Wound up dumping a bunch all over my hand.

Nice work on the foil. The colour looks good on it too.?

How do you Guys keep your superglue bottles from clogging up? I do try to burp it a bit after use so that it will suck a bit of air back down the nozzle which usually results in glue running down the outside of the nozzle. Lately I have been removing the entire cap and dipping my applicator in, instead of putting a bit in a bottle cap to use. That resulted in me knocking over the bottle once when I picked up the applicator that had glued itself down to the paper towel I had laid it on. ? The tip of this bottle actually twisted off and is glued inside the cap.

It looks great Bob! Isn’t that airbrush a wonderful thing? Looks like you made short work of the learning process. -
Correct!?

I think those were the insulation off of some slightly larger wire that I notched and bent to 90 degrees or so. I also sometimes use very tiny shrink wrap that I stretch while heating it.

An easy one: “And now my friend, the first rule of Italian driving....whatsa behind me isa not important!”

I know...but I cheated and googled it. It’s before my time.?

Excellent job!?

Thanks. The foil disc in the first two pics is too reflective and it looks like a chrome headlight from straight on. The third pic is some duller aluminum foil, and the last pic is the BMF behind the lens. I used a fine flat chainsaw file for the pressing.
-
I was just playing around today and came up with this idea. I punched a 1/4” disc out of some clear plastic packaging. Then I taped it to a small file and pressed it in my vise, rotated it 90 degrees and pressed it again. Then I used the butt end of a paint brush to give it a little dome. Excuse the foil job...I couldn’t get it to stick to the bare resin bezel.

That looks really nice! It will look fantastic when the trim is done!?
