  1. Or these or any of this and probably not likely any of this There is hope, sometimes I have found long ago aborted project suddenly get new life. Some even get completed.
  2. Well I am not completely slackmastering. I am working on a 85 3.2 Carrera.
  3. Yup Fujimi, there are a couple on Ebay.
  4. I think there is a model of the Porsche Designs bike, too.
  5. I only know of two as well.
  6. Yup, don't do it for a living any longer, but I still work on my own cars. However, I grew up in a Porsche shop. I worked for Porsche, VW, Audi, Toyota, Mazda and Honda, worked on pretty much everything under the sun, built racing engines for 3 years and was on a TAFC pit crew, was offered a clutch man position on Tommy Johnson Jr's car and help with a Camel Light Porsche, club 962, crewed for a 944 Firehawk team. Been in the car biz for 35 years and cannot seem to escape the industry. And I have actively tried. I even went back to school and got a bachelor degree… to no avail though. I am just a car guy, it's im my blood. Now I am the regional office manager for a warranty/admin company and deal with mechanical and service claims and broker specialty cars on the side. And yes, Buicks have a very low claim loss ratio. Toyota's are okay, they don't break down as often but they are more expensive to repair than your domestics and even Hondas. Some else mentioned Cherokee. Yes an older Cherokee is pretty bullet proof, run away from Grand Cherokees though and old Explorers are not much better. I see insurance actualarial all the time I can kind of give you a good idea what is good what is bad, how often and what breaks down on most cars and you'd probably be surprised at the results.
  7. I think it is the equivalent of writers block, which has been summed up as, the writers desire to write brilliantly out of the box. It is a combination of desire, ability, skills and the envisioned outcome or final piece. How many times that we envision the final model but along the way, this didnt turn out quite right, and this is off, I have no idea how to do that and million other little things come up along the way. I think we get to the point where more is wrong with a project that right, or fear of not doing good enough we put it off to the side. Maybe we learn or develop the skills and ability to tackle that project again… maybe not. All that I know is I have more started than finished ones so I guess that makes me somewhat of an expert on the subject, yeah? Sometimes, I just get tired of working on the same kit. I have a super detail F4U Corsair that is about 70% done, but I worked on it for months and months and months on the same kit and I was stuck of a few very minor details. It's been shelved for years now. I got all kinds of stalled projects, and they are stalled for any number of various reasons, but mostly just a lack of ambition.
  8. Election year. most experts are saying it will be rough going till 2013.
  9. Trust me, it's largely licensing. We've looked into it. It is more expensive to license an Audi model than a Porsche or Ferrari and you are not going to get the sales numbers on an Audi kit as you would a Porsche or Ferrari. So you are just shooting yourself in the foot with a high license fee over fewer number of kits.
  10. The simple fact is the VW Group wants too much for licensing.
  11. It is human nature to get off topic. If you just talk about the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.... However it should stay within the relm of related topics...
  12. Yeah, in spite of everything the supply of Tenax at my LHS never dried up and I stocked up just in case.
  13. Just do it. How can you go wrong with a Porsche. Here is some inspiration.
  14. My 1:1 Porsche Sports Car Racing F1 World SC Championship RC Helicopter and Gaming.
  15. Maybe so, but the officer violated protocall. The officer had a red light and is required to slow to at least a rolling stop to check the intersection is clear. He fail to do so. If you have a green light you can't instantly stop your car just because of an emergency vehicle.
  16. It was re-released about a year ago. It was recently or currently is in the Heller Catalog. I got one not too long ago from Squadron.
  17. all kinds of them if you want 20,000 + copies. 1... not so much.
  18. Torch and silver solder
  19. I have the kits but haven't built them. They are kind of basic, but look good. I am sure they build up nice as most all Tamiya kits do.
  20. I have a Seig X2 mill and a 7X10 lathe (IE Harbor Freight) If you are familar with a machine shop and it's tools you can set up these machines to do very well, so far my machines have delivered everything I have demanded of them. The Sherline is good for very small precision machine but it does have some of it's own short commings, notwithstanding it's very expensive to get a complete set up with everything you need, in the neigborhood of $4,000 to field a manual mill, lathe, fixtures, tooling and measuring equipment. Get seperates and not an all in one machine. The Sherline doesn't use very standard stuff, unlike the Seig machines which used standard MT1/MT2/MT3 standard arbors, uses standard tooling, posts etc. Stuff is pretty easy to get and fractional of the cost of Sherline stuff for very high quality accessories. But I promise you, if you learn how to use it and do use reguardless if you get a Sherline or Seig it will pay for itself because there is pretty much unlimited possiblities. There are people building complete running miniture engines with a Seig mill and lathe.
  21. Just a 356 Speedster 54-55 (likely) or late model 55-57 356A. Was replaced by the Roadster and D Convertable which were your Bs and Cs.
  22. Honda Accord. It was so rusty that when you accelerated or braked the dash moved well over 1 inch.
