Im not sure, I've never looked into it, I just think it's a really cool kit very similar to this one. For replicating the Mirage you are correct. If you look at the vehicle in the background you see an actual IMSA car with a pretty fat body kit which I think more closely resembles what's in this kit. The Monza Mirage is a tamer factory production model that really just channels the IMSA look. Believe it or not there are still a few companies that manufacture the IMSA panels and they go from mild to wild. Thanks for the review on this kit by the way, makes me wish I had one to go with my Sunbird

Those will make beautiful slot cars. Makes me wish I could keep mine on the track long enough to have some that nice and keep them that way! Your friend will be impressed

Hey that is really really cool! First time I've ever been attracted to that year Thinderbird. The rear end looks like she was meant to be a long roof. Great execution!

There actually is a Pontiac version of this kit. The Formula Sunbird. I agree with you on the olds, a starfire firenza with the IMSA body would be boss!

I have all kinds of weird little plastic dishes I've picked up over the years for the small bits. But for keeping everything together or staging I use some school lunch trays. Throw everything on the tray, slide it on the shelf and grab another one

Lots of great detail under the hood there. Congrats on this beautiful build. I think you could find it in you to forgive the stance and trunk lid ?

Looks great! -
I've done that exact thing for years! I quit using spray cans and went to perrier bottles which are glass so they stand nicely on their own and the necks are tapered with a cap around the size of a nickel. Smaller parts like hoods can be attached and most of the underside can be painted as well.

Great job capturing the 1:1, it's always satisfying to model a friends car down to the smallest details. Also Nice to see a mopar that isnt the usual RT TA AAR Hemi all rare options blah blah

I was meaning station wagons as the general topic as suggested in the first post. Although an ecto 1 smoothed out and painted in the scheme of the general lee did cross my mind lol -

That's a dazzling color combination, the gold Hurst wheels were a great choice too. I'll have to keep these colors in mind for a future build -
Spoken like a true GM man! Great 70 chevelle you have there.

*Gasp* red, Cragars, and a good rake! You've checked all the boxes for a perfect El Camino. Go ahead and ship it to me when you get the chance ?

That would take some getting used to but I could see that useful for some applications like trimming flash etc. I can say hands down the best handling knife I've ever owned is the plain harbor freight one. Rubber grip and has a taper in the perfect spot

I suffer from the exact same things. I've been thinking in recent years to tone back my wants in terms of how detailed I want my models. Detailing is what really consumes the time and gets tiring so I've reached a point where some kits will get plug wiring and fuel lines and some wont that sort of thing. They dont all have to be show worthy just shelf worthy. Another thing that bites me is when I steal parts from kits and forget. Then I go to start that kit years later and go "oh yeah I used that hemi for that blah blah" it wouldnt bother me so much if kits weren't 30 dollars these days am I right -
Will we ever see the Monogram S-10 again?

I too would love to see an sten kit with tasteful custom bits. They are still a common truck and v8 swaps are a plenty in 1:1 -

Excellent weathering excellent build! I saw a 1:1 57 vette in a half and half scheme exactly like that and I thought someone slipped something in my drink
