  1. Ebbro kits are nice, he did a great job on this one. Those decals are tricky and he mastered them. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Those old Heller/AMT kits were great in their day. Rescuing a 50yr old build is no easy task. You did well.
  3. I have this kit done and I agree the quality was not the greatest. But sometimes you to have work with what you have. I think what you did was very good and appreciate the fact you went the extra yards to make it correct.
  4. Gary...very interesting for a vintage resin. And thanks for the background information.
  5. Enjoying watching your progress on this kit. I did mine in a pearl white but that is as far as I got. Thanks for the heads up on the glass. I may do that,.
  6. Phil...these were the only pictures I could find. I know they were there another year and I had a lot of detail shots but two days of looking came to naught. I had to take a photo of the pictures since my scanner wouldn't co-operate. This was the days before I discovered digital cameras. Sigh.....when you have all these cars in one place and only two rolls of film. All shots were taken from atop the press tower. Sorry to disappoint...at least I was there.
  7. Dave.....that certainly turned out sweet. You are right...I will have to start on mine....now that I know how do-able it is. Thanks for posting the WIP and all the inspirational help.
  8. Interesting model you got there Gary. Probably pretty rare. I notice there is no tape over the right headlight or its missing its cover. Was this done on purpose. I know stuff falls off in a race.
  9. A great collection and fitting tribute to Steve McQueen. The camera car is very cool. Dennis is a great modeler.
  10. Phil....thanks for the reply....I have the same set. Somewhere.....in my archives....I have a bunch of photos of the real car when it was at Watkins Glen for the Trans Am reunion. When I find them I will post them here....with your kindly permission of course.
  11. Very Nice Tim...just picked one of these up
  12. Phil...very clever work so far. I will be following this very closely. I have a resin body I got years ago...full bumper BTW, and just recently added the decals. Like your work on the flares and was wondering how I was going to do that. Whose decals are you using?
  13. Excellent work, carbon fibre looks great, all the decals and paint are cool too.
  14. Gramps...I think for the price its a decent model. This car gets around. I have seen this one in person at a Ferrari club meeting in Corning NY in 2007
  15. Thanks for posting Dave, I will keep your modifications in mind when I do mine.
  16. This one is a stunner Tim, you did an awesome job, really like it and the other two as well.
  17. Those graphics are really tough but you pulled it off beautifully. I was only recently working on mine. Did you clearcoat all your decals and what did you use?? . It looks great.
  18. Thomas....this kit has long sat dormant in my stash. I think you have done a wonderful job on it, especially with all the small details. You have shown us all what can be done with a tough kit. Its inspiring.
  19. Very Nice Alex...another winnner from your stable. What do you use to spray the black trim. My "go to" is Tamiya X-18 aribrushed. Water base on lacquer makes mistakes clean easily. I wholeheartedly agree that doing a quick project like this keeps the modeling mojo going. Tamiya is my "go to" as well.
  20. It did...I have actually done a little work on it. Don't know If i am going to go full chassis like you plan on doing...but I might.
  21. Gary...once again thank you for posting pictures of Scott's models. I have seen these kits in person and they are very nice work. Now, if I can convince Scott to come up here and help me with that AutoKits Ferrari 156 I have in the works...........????
  22. thanks Randy and JC...see comment below.
  23. Thanks for the tips guys. Appreciate it. This won't be my first trip around the block for a Fujimi EM Porsche. The problem with mine is the paint, a special mix of pearl and white, has flaked off in spots. When I get disgusted with a project it has a habit of sitting, in this case 20yrs. I know I will have to strip it sooner or later. But when i see a post like Randy's the inspiration to dig it our sooner sets in. Thanks again.
  24. The paint is good, their website is slick, but customer service is very bad. I ordered several items and after 4 months of writing with no answers, I finally had to threaten them with a PayPal refund. Amazingly, my order showed up in a few days. I understand from a few others, this is the norm for them. Buyer beware.
