  1. Impressive build. I have this kit too and have been avoiding it. It needs to go in my Chaparral collection. Thanks for letting me know that it can be done.
  2. Dan,,,my comment wasn't about the colour....which I happen to like a lot BTW. It refers to one of the best commercials Porsche ever put on TV about the Porsche Boxster. It created quite a stir. The public loved it, Porsche Boxster owners...not so much. It can be found on Youtube under " Porsche Commercial Awake". Youtube won't let me post a link here.
  3. Purple Porsche.....holy moly.....<G>
  4. Very nice job Dan, interesting choice of colours for the interior....I like it.
  5. Gary...thank you so much for putting this up. I have known Wm for many years now and he is an excellent modeler and this one is a fine example of his work. His sense of humor also comes through in the description. Very nice...enjoyed this a lot.
  6. Very Nice job Mark, I just got that kit, now I am inspired to build it. Thanks for posting.
  7. Car looks great Tim, sweet job on the decals and detailing. Inspiration to do mine.
  8. Outstanding build, superb attention to detail...thanks for sharing.

    BMW

Very nice job, thanks for the photos of the interior, don't get to see all that with the body on and its is very well done too.
  10. Kurt....absolutely fantastic build......enjoyed every bit of it and picked up a few tips along the way. Thanks so much for going the extra yard and posting all the updates.
  11. That is a very cool interpretation on that old kit. Like the paint. When you wait 25yrs you are pretty sure it is cured.
  12. Very Nice, like the colour scheme and the photography is great. You have learned well.
  13. Nice job, different liveries, cool stable of cars.
  14. My quest for this Exoto Chaparral 2E has finally ended. Took possession of this beauty today. There are many working features on this model and i will include as much as I can under the pictures. This is one of the last pieces I was seeking for my Chaparral collection. I still have to build the Fisher version of this car and now I am anxious to get to it. Thanks for looking. I bought this version in the prototype form with no numbers or sponsers. I may add them later if I can find a good sheet. This is my favorite angle of this car showing the business end. Note all the screens and exterior detail, they didn't miss too much/. Side veiw, the wing strut is detachable and adjustable. Many working features on this car, inclusding, steering throught the wheel. working suspension, opening doors and removable panel and setabelts. All done to perfection. Some fo the incredible detail on this diecast. Not too many lines or detail missing here. Not too many people know the Chaparral 2E had two wings. The second is visible at the bottom of the picture. Both wings were activated by the same pedal. the front wing is hidden under the front body panel. More incredible detail in the business end, Luv those exhaust pipes. I have checked some of this against the actual car and most of it is spot on. Interior detail is also accurate with period correct seat belts. See some more of the front weing detail at the top of the pic. The whole collection of 2E's. Front #65 is my re-visitied IMC kit in 1/24. The #66 in front is an LS kit with added wheels and details. Not a very good kit and it is actually supposed tobe a 2G, In the back is my old IMC kit that was done circa 1965.
  15. Sometimes the obvious eludes us. It often takes an outside perspective to see what we don't. You were wise to ask for help and I was just as happy to provide it.
  16. I would think that a piece of styrene rod the right diameter would do. Cut off the right width with a sharp razor blade and glue it in with craft glue. Paint silver and decal it.
  17. That's a museum piece, very, very nice
  18. Tony....welcome to the forum. I have re-painted many a diecast and if you don't strip the paint off you don't need primer. If it has tampo printing on it that can be removed with nail polish remover and that won't or shouldn't hurt the paint underneath. Most diecast are dipped in their basecoat and it is pretty resilient. Scrub it down with a toothbrush and scouring powder, dry it good and you are ready to go. Tamiya lays out smooth the best over a shiny surface and has great adhesion. If the paint on your diecast is not so good then that is a different story. Then you will have to strip it. That is all up to you to decide. Most of the diecast I have seen has pretty decent paint on it. Hope all this helps.
  19. Scott....I built the Testarossa (mine is a spyder) and the F-40 many years ago. If I remember correctly the fit on the front cover was way off and I had to grind down the attachment points quite a bit. Mine are displayed with pieces of styrofoam under the car. It is just the right height so the wheels and tires sit flat but don't support any of the weight. You have to look hard to spot the styrofoam and I have had no suspension failure. Your interior leather work is spot on by the way. Wish I had done this to mine but they were built over 15yrs ago. Where did you find the leather. I can still take it apart and do it. Eventually both these cars will come out of my Ferrari case (they take up an enormous amount of room) and have their own separate display cases.
  20. Looks real good Phil....a nice tribute.
  21. Amazing attention to detail, a superb model of a great car.
  22. Kurt...this is very cool. Figures add a lot of interest to a finished project. I do a lot of minatures painting for my business but I also incorporate some of the techniques into my model car hobby. Its a different kind of painting. You are off to a great start BTW and I will be interested in your finished piece. Here are a couple minis (there are three of them) I did for my Stroker Ace diorama.
  23. Very nice job, like the colour. Really can't tell from the photos if you have glue on the window. have you tried Novus 2 to try and polish it out. Windows are a pain any way you look at it.
  24. Nice save, colour looks good
  25. Awesome job on the decals Tim. Nice to know extras are available from Indycals. I can only imagine what a terror they were over those louvers.
