  1. Hi Tom! Beautifull recipe, bravo! CT
  2. Hi Roy! To paraphrase the old saying: " Everything old LOOKS new again". Bravo! CT
  3. Hi Tim! I was reading an old issue of my favorite model magazine with your article on that car just last week! Nice results! CT
  4. Hi Steve! Truly world class, bravo. And the natural light is flattering to you smoke treatment on the wheels! But what truly sets my envy is... the west-coast weather and BC nature in the background. Take it from a guy who just spent 3 hours shoveling 2 foot of snow on his house. Rain forecasted for tomorrow, so better be prudent! CT
  5. Hi Daniel! Do you know Fred Stern ( Fred's Model World) in Buffalo, NY? He sells kits at a builder's price, not collector's, if you see what I mean. And he sometimes has interesting Johan specimens avail. Yous might want to add his site to your list of favorites. Who knows? CT
  6. Hi Alan! Thank you. You know what? To Francis' point (above) about the law of "perpetual motion"... I look at the mostly complete "remnants" of the Alternomad, and the very nice molding of the interior components lead me to think that a "Camino style" conversion could work. I think it could be a shoe-in for a slightly twisted 59 Caddy convertible Monogram kit that collects dust in my stash. Hmmmm.. Let's see... CT
  7. Hi Danno! Well, THAT is an enthusiastic comment if ever there was one! Thanks! CT
  8. Hi Steve! Thank you for the comments. Now, I don't know your exact age, but to old guys like me, "station-wagons" will always occupy a choice spot in our memories! CT
  9. Thank you Mike! it is now my belief that there is NOTHING you can inflict on a 60 Starliner that would make it look bad... It's such a great design to begin with, so... CT
  10. Hi Ian! Thank you for the praise... but it reminds me of my age, alas... LOL! CT
  11. Thank you Francis! Now that you say it... that theory of "perpetual motion" is getting me worried... Will it ever stop? I hope not! I still have about a pint of that candy paint, so when you fire-up your airbrush, just call me if you want to try it! CT
  12. Thank you Oliver! Ah, decisions, decisions... CT
  13. Thank you Thomas! I don't care much myself for the "tuner cars", but I can see that younger guys would like to model them. If there are younger guys in this hobby, of course... CT
  14. Thanks David! It's a bit more work, but I often flip the hood on my cars... At least, you can open it and see almost nothing of the hinge system. Plus, once open, you don't have the "slots" on the cowl. Matter of taste, I guess... The rear window was virtually a shoe-in on the Starliner rear trunk edge panel. Lucky me! CT
  15. Hi Tom! Thank you. After 2 or 3 even coats of the candy cherry, it looked fine, but much more "pinkish", or magenta. So, I piled on 6 coats total. Under the sun, it really pops! CT
  16. Thank you Keith! Since I finished it, I saw a brochure of the "standard" station-wagon that Ford offered on the Starliner platform. It looks similar, with a more rounded "bubble" rear window. I read somewhere that the era customizers often used that OEM rear window as a custom windshield on some show-car creations... But of course, the OEM car was a 4 doors. And the windshield was much less raked than on the Alternomad... The joys of kit bashing! CT
  17. Thank you Ray, happy you like it! CT
  18. Thanks for the update! CT
