  1. Could you post a photo? I've never seen a '57 with those parts on it.
  2. The wax will definitely cause an issue with the clear coat. You should be able to strip the wax off with Windex. I would go over it with Dawn dishwashing liquid afterwards. Spray three coats of TS-13, sand smooth and polish. I highly recommend using the Tamiya compounds (Course, Fine and Finish). They'll change your life!
  3. Here's some photos of the styline parts along with the chopped glass. Instruction photos. Now, in all honesty, who would really use those styline parts on a '57 Chevy?
  4. Those styline parts for the '57 Chevy wouldn't be worth the styrene that would be wasted just for the handful of people that would actually use them. Much less the time and effort it would take on the tooling. There's a reason they're not there any longer. They're horrible.
  5. Did you measure at the center of the model with the bumper installed?
  6. Something that needs to be taken into consideration concerning the C/10 is when the tooling was made originally. The C/10 was actually made from a GMC that was done over fifty years ago. I don't know if the Blazer came about in the same manner or not. Either way, it's old tooling. Exactly how short are they front and rear?
  7. No kidding! I get a chuckle out of the "accurate body styling" moniker on the box. I bought the '71 years ago and can honestly say that I've never seen a modern model with so many inaccuracies! Literally from the inaccurate wheels to the flat roof! It sure didn't help that they cribbed the frame, made an exact copy of the engine and exhaust from the AMT F-350.
  8. When you measure, are you taking the actual measurements and dividing by 25 or using the 1"=1mm method? The 1"=1mm method is not accurate on measurements such as wheelbase or body length. It's OK on short measurements like a wheel. But, not on longer measurements.
  9. That's weird. I get a "members account has been blocked" message. Must be a Fotki glitch. Seems to happen with them a lot.
  10. I looked at my Multi-Maverick and can see how the front suspension can be adjusted. But, unless you're willing to look at the body with a seam showing in the side of the fender, it won't work. Even if you're willing to to accept the seam, the only way I see to do the fenders would be to glue them on with Elmers glue. Same with the front suspension. Then there's also getting the paint to match. Myself, I would choose one and go with it.
  11. I have one that I can check out.
  12. Yes. Although, I don't know how it would be possible with a model. The real car could extend or shorten the wheelbase and switch the front fenders.
  13. Verynice! It looks so much better with the Advan wheels! Nice work!
  14. If you're talking about the Multi Maverick, it was out in early to mid 2000s. Hobby Heaven sponsored it. IIRC, there was a later issue by Round2.
  15. I've seen several posts about the weak trim and I agree. But, it's super easy to fix. Just sand away the old trim and replace it with .020 styrene rod.
  16. Nice looking little truck Bob! That engine looks sweet!
  17. Looks really nice Al! I think this is one of or maybe your best build yet! Nice work!
  18. Thanx Greg! The back end will actually come up a bit once the coilovers are installed. In the photo, the tubs are resting on the tires.
  19. Thanx Jack! If I remember correctly, I just added a strip of .020 to the recess. Then cut and sanded to shape. It was fair simple.
  20. Well, the hubcap isn't going to cover up the wonky looking cooling holes.
  21. It still looks like it did in the last photo sadly. I got the door panels fitted and then lost steam.
  22. Thanx! I'm not feeling the red spreader bar myself. I think I'll foil it or paint it black.
  23. Yeah, it's the MPC kit. I should have mentioned that. Thanx for the info! When I did my research, I was surprised at how little this car is represented. But, I didn't do a great deal of research. If one compared stock to stock, I think the Chevrolet would have had an edge. Especially in the ride and handling department with it's springs on all four corners. Looks wise, it looks like a smaller version of a Cadillac to me.
  24. They're both cool models! I really appreciate seeing the old build of the Cabriolet! Those two piece Good Years tells it's age immediately.
