I've been under the weather for a few days, and also spending time setting up and starting to learn how to use my new 3D resin printer. But I did get some modeling done as well. Parachutes have been cast and painted and look to be good enough to use. Built front caliper mounts and installed them on the front struts, luckily everything fits and clearances are good.

The new fabrication looks great, the logo is a nice touch and the inner window surrounds/supports are spot on. -
I'm not sure your introduction date on the TH400 is correct. It was first used iin 65 in Buick and Olds and the other divisions in 66. My 67 Caprice 427 car had one from the showroom floor ( In Canada as least). The TH400 found its way into race cars very quickly because of its three speeds and apparent strength. That being said the B&M is also quite likley.

I've been out of town for a while, not much modeling done, I have been going back and improving some already "completed" sub assembliesand starting to add items to the body, quarter window supports and such also routing and installing guides for the chute cables and fire system lines, cleaned up, and replace the sutoff knobs on the Nitrous tanks. Also the wheel nuts and studs arrived but I anm still waiting on the bead lock bolts to arrive from RB Motion

Congratulations on a well deserved win Daniel, and I think Francis is correct about future awards -

Francis, again you have out done yourself, the doors are jaw dropping. Fantastic work my friend! -
Francis I agree whole heartedly, enen though I have been involved with many cars and engines since the gold Moroso era, they do not replace the fact that these covers epitomize what my mind goes to first when race engines are the topic of discussion.

Thank you Francis, it looks fairly good once it's sitting in the trunk area, but I may build a second one to eliminate a couple of short comings. The bracket at least can be cut down and mounted to the chassis permanently as I'm trying to get the chassis ready to paint but there is a long way to go there as well.

The hinges look very good, and the doors appear to be operating correctly. I would call that a win. -
I've been busy but not really much that would be of interest but the to do list is shrinking. The dash and instrument panel have been the major focus but too soon in the process for photos. Also the chassis is getting bars added( body support structure) brackets and cable/line guides installed. One piece of minor interest might be the master cutoff switch and bracket that are in progress. The actuating rod and knob that go through the rear panel are in progress but will be later as they have to be sized once the switch is permanently mounted.

Your a self taught machinist? Your turning out beyond aerospace level machining on a regular basis. I am astonished, and I'm only saying that because I'm to old to say "my mind is blown!" -
Thank you Francis for the kind words, and yes it's a long list but I'm still having fun with it.

Better look at the intake in progress, by way of the new photocell powered turn table that came with the curing lamp for my 3D printer MVI_0159[1].MOV

Daniel l like this effect, I did the same on the tin on the Banzai Vega panel. I used the kitchen plastic wrap with transparent blue under transparent red on a silver base. I think I like your plastic wrap style better but it may come down to a matter of scale depending on the size of the panels your doing, the sponge effect may work better on smaller panels. -
Busy today, I was mistakenly thinking I was approaching the point that I could start considering assembling this beast in the near future so I decided to take stock of where I'm actually at. Not even close, here is the partial list of required things left and this does not include actual assembly or refinishing. I did make some progress as the last thing I added to the list is now ready to put on the car. Thanks Daniel, I'm happy with the headers so far, the Nitrous fogger stage was a major challenge still a bit of tweaking to do but it's there. Have to run the fuel and Nitrous feed lines, still debating putting on the Viper second stage in plenum nitrous system. Then there is the carburetor fuel lines and throttle linkage to deal with. A blown alcohol motor would gave been sooo much easier.

Thanks Francis, with the clearances involved they have gone as far as I can take them. I know they will fit fine but until most of the major bits are mounted permanently I can't set the final angles as the clearances are just too tight to guess at, especially on the drivers side, the steering and the drysump pump are almost certain to cause an issues and the steering clears the headers now by only mm's so any change could cause some head scratching. Back to the top side of the engine.
