  1. Thanks Glenn, I still have to make the carburetor in order to make it more realistic, I will try to make it in the coming weeks! Take care, Francis
  2. Thanks for your visit and kind comment John! Come back anytime and feel free to leave any comments as you like, they are optional but highly appreciated! Take care, Francis
  3. Very nice work Daniel ! I'm just surprised to find you in this category... I'm torn because I also like semi-trucks and I don't need to have too much temptations... I've seen many marvels in this section of the forum and an old truck from the sixties or early seventies would be cool to build... as a drag racing truck...LOL. ? Keep doing your good job my friend, you are so resourceful, I'll be back to check your progress.
  4. Thanks for the kind comments Charles! I'm very honored, however, I don't think I have much to teach you from what I've seen on your 1/12 Corvette so far! Take care, Francis
  5. Thanks Ray, glad you like it! Thank you for your trust Jerry!
  6. It's bubbling with ideas in that head... Claude, you are the king of combining bodies to create unusual subjects my friend!!! Caskets rental is not common too... is it? The body modifications are very well done as usual and I love your decals... very funny! Another topic of discussion at the next exhibition, you are already well equipped for the next season!!!
  7. Thanks Jerry! Yes, another chapter of a book that I don't see the end... Take care, Francis Thanks for the kind comment Jim! I just consider myself a good student who puts into practice what I learn by looking at other people's work, but I don't think I will be able to do fantastic paint jobs like yours sir! Take care, Francis
  8. Very cool project Steve! I do like the modifications you have made so far (especially the headlights). Your color choice is also perfect, can't go wrong with tan interior and candy red body!
  9. Very nice Thunderbird Timothy! I love this era when drag cars were still retaining their factory body lines and proportions. All your FORDs are very nice looking models and you can be proud of each one. Well done sir and welcome on board!!!
  10. Very nice and elegant Buick Eric! Nice color choice, very sixties I would say and appropriate for this big body style. Salutation from a fellow Canadian!
  11. Absolutely superb job Roger! Like you, I prefer hardtop cars and the job you have done is just impeccable! The stance is also perfect and you have chosen a really nice color combo. You can be proud of it sir!!!
  12. Thanks for the compliment Dave! Yes, but I will try my Caswell plating system first to make the brass looking nickel and heat stain using my airbrush at a later stage of the build. Take care, Francis
  13. Wicked looking car Timothy! Love this Oldsmobile body style and build as a drag racing car is right in my taste! You're on a real good start!!!
  14. Beautiful Camaro Craig! As other have mentioned, the color is very nice and I love the red interior, just the right shade and not too bright. The stance is perfect and the job you have done on the exhaust system is super and very convincing. You can be proud of it sir!
  15. Well I have to say this one IMHO is by far your most daring concept yet my dear! Scissor doors are already a rather extravagant concept, so why not move the entire front clip with them? Ask Claude the question and you will have your answer! You are truly a great designer my friend and this Camaro concept is a good example, everything was done with taste, daring and restraint at the same time! Everything is still GM with a futuristic take on what the car would look like decades later. Styrene is a fantastic medium and you use it so well to show us your take on the wonderful automotive world. This will be talked about at the next exhibition! Another great hit my friend, you sent it out of the ballpark!!!
  16. Hello everyone, Three weeks have already passed since my last update, so it's time to post my latest progress and keep the interest you might still have in my current build (sorry for my slow progress guys...)! I have made headers with soft aluminum craft wire on my previous builds for quite a few time so the basic is the same. However, I wanted to make more realistic headers collectors and flanges so I decided to fabricate them with brass and put in contribution my resistance solder unit. I will probably try to nickel plate the brass parts to keep the color more uniform with the aluminum tubes. I do think they are the best ones I've made so far and I hope you'll like them, feel free to send comments or questions if you wish. Take care of you and stay safe during the pandemic, Francis Headers collectors parts in progress made with brass. Headers collectors final Headers flange in progress, the bolts pattern match the heads Headers flange final. Headers final, tubes are 0.080" aluminum craft wire. Headers test fit. Headers test fit different view.
  17. No problem Mike! However, I don't know when the border will open but something sure you will have to set up a camp bed and take some vacation, these parts take me forever to do... Thanks for the kind comments by the way! Take care, Francis Thanks for your visit and kind words Steve! This is just a kind of therapy for my endless search for the impossible and illusory perfection! The time spent on the bench is rarer lately but the interaction with the members of this forum is priceless! Glad to get feedback from the other end of our big country! Take care, Francis
  18. Thank you for your quick and good advice Daniel! It's like being in contact with customer service... the best of course! Do you think that the liquid version (Ivory body wash) might be also suitable? Always a pleasure to talk about hobby with you, and thank you for that my friend!
  19. WOW again Claude! I don't need all that amount of "little blue pills" to get excited with your superb Nova-Mino build my friend! Another example of your great imagination and good taste! I also appreciate that you have kept the GM mill under the hood, no budget constraints or financial limitation like in the real life but by respect for the brand and the fans! The position is absolutely perfect by the way and the color matches the warm Arizona sand perfectly. Well done again my friend!!!
  20. Superb, realistic, fantastic! The weathering job looks so real that it can be confused with a real rusted truck! I love it... can't wait to see the next update Jay!!!
  21. What would it be if not... it's simply FANTASTIC Charles! Top quality work here!!! Superb job on the instrument panel too, where did you get the gauge faces, did you make them with a drawing software and a inkjet printer or they are available from a hobby supplier?
  22. Thanks for the kind comment Sergey! Different car maker and country but same goal... building model cars with passion and the pleasure to learn and share our vision with each other... priceless! Thanks for sharing your amazing talent with us, much appreciated! Take care, Francis
  23. Thanks for the advise Daniel! Sorry for the potentially dumb question but when you make mention of "annealed", what kind of treatment are you talking about? What is your usual method and the ideal temperature for the best results? Thanks in advance my friend!
  24. Would it be possible to see this category without a new build from Claude? The answer is no because salt flat racers are in its veins... What a nice build... what a convincing build... what can I expect from this good guy other than masterful builds!!! Nothing really good with this pandemic but those sunrays with build quality photos like this bring me a big smile! I'll be back to work in a few hours so I will be come back to digest all the good things pictured here! In the meantime, I take my hat off to you!!!?
  25. That's FANTASTIC Brian!!! Superb wrecker, super clean build, you have a great taste sir! It's a Dodge so how can I dislike it... Not a lot of these around... I love it! Well done again sir!!!
