  1. Beatiful and impressive work Dan! These transporter look sturdy and all the work on hydraulic lines is very convincing. Well done sir!!!
  2. Thanks for your comment Joe! Take care, Francis Thanks Tim! I'm also excited about the potential result of that product. Maybe it will be a good way to add some color contrast to some parts without having to paint them. Take care, Francis Thanks Dave, I'm glad if you like it and feel entertained, I also really love to see what Tim is doing! Take care, Francis Thanks Randy! I'm very honored to get your comments on my build, you're truly a master builder and a big source of inspiration! Take care, Francis Thanks for the kind words Daniel! It was fun to find a second life for that small drive gear. A new territory for me and good experience for my next builds! Take care, Francis
  3. That was a lot of work but it was worth it Tim! These carbs are spectacular, can't wait to see them with all the details added on the big BOSS engine.
  4. Thanks Glenn! Take care, Francis Thanks for the kind words Kerry! Please, don't give me the idea of getting involved in the manufacturing of tools at 1/25 scale, I already have enough work to make all these parts... lol. Take care, Francis
  5. Hello everyone! As expected, things have been going more slowly lately (as if it could be ...) but I found a little time on the bench during the rare rainy days or when the very hot and humid days were an invitation to take refuge in the basement. It's one of the hottest summer I've seen so far and it's far from over... After making the flywheel using a watch gear, I had the idea of making a starter a little more detailed than the ones I used to do. I had kept the tiny gear that was in contact with the big one, so I had a good idea (please read this as sarcasm) to use it to make the pinion bendix. By the way, I ordered a bottle of Birchwood Casey Brass Black, so I will possibly try to blacken the flyeheel teeth even if it is already taken in sandwich between the 2 aluminum parts. I do not know this product so if an expert knows that I should not dip aluminum in this product, your advice would be very appreciated... Here is where I am with this starter, I may try to anodize in black the motor frame in order to add a little color contrast. Comments and suggestions are welcome! Take care, Francis Starter drive end housing in progress. Starter mounting flange in progress. The bolts pattern match with the bellhousing as well. Starter parts including a brass selenoid. Starter temporaly assembled for test fit purpose. The starter Bendix pinion spin and slide freely on the shaft (even if it is useless...?).
  6. Great job on the carburetors Tim, another piece of the puzzle done, you can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel!
  7. Nice to see you back Roger! The body is beautiful with the added decals! Good job!!!
  8. Superb job Steve! The front grille and the tail lights section are beautiful. The '68 Beaumont is such a nice car, can't wait to see all the body details completed. Well done sir!!!
  9. Glad to see you back on the Maverick Joe! The shifter looks nice on the transmission tunnel and the interior is heading in the right direction my friend!!!
  10. Fantastic build sir! Very clean and good choice of colors too. To be confused with the real thing... you can be proud of!!!
  11. What a nice surprise and honor to get your comments on my build sir! Your name and your reputation in this hobby are well established and it is an honor to have your visit on my current project. I have read so much praise for your incredible skills and achievements on Tim's threads and I must say that you are a landmark in this fantastic hobby! Thanks again and come back anytime, Take care, Francis
  12. Thank you so much for the kind comments John! You put me in a team with a h**l of a good machinist and I don't know if I deserve such treatment but I accept it with great humility... especially comming from you sir... I hope to not disappoint in the long run! Take care, Francis
  13. Nice and cool tribute builds Tom! I recall taking a ride with something pretty similar ('65 Ford Econoline) with one of my uncles in the mid '70 and it was a very strange feeling to drive so close of the windshield. Cool trucks however!
  14. Thanks for the kind comments Dick! I must confess that machining and finding the way to make these parts is my favorite part of the hobby. Still a lot of parts to make... I still have a full time job so I hope to be more productive and fast to deliver my builds when I will be retired... More updates to come! Take care, Francis
  15. Cool project you have! It seem that you will have a very expensive build on the bench sir! So much cool stuff are available these days and the newest 3D technologie just add more offering and spending opportunities! Hard to resist for the big boys with child hearts!
  16. I'm glad to see that this "donor" kit will have a second life Craig! Pro-Touring is hot these days and I'm more than happy to see this Camaro body style receive this kind of update!
  17. You are already welcome to the forum Gary! You are an inspiration by the quality of your builds and gorgeous paint job sir! Thanks for sharing.
  18. Welcome on board Glenn! Sorry to know about your health problem, but I hope you find a lot of inspiration and good vibes here! I share the same passion as you for drag racing cars so I hope you will share some pictures of your next build!
  19. Welcome to the forum Robert! Model car building it’s like riding a bicycle, you never completely forget how to do it even after a long time without practicing... happy building sir!
  20. Welcome to the forum George! You will certainly find some inspiration and good advice from the kind members of this playground!
  21. Nice touch Pat! What I like the most about semi truck engines is the overall details of the molded kit parts in comparison with the ones one the same scale cars kits. I may be wrong on this statement, but I think you are the right guy to agree or disagree... ?
  22. That's HUUUUUUUGE!!! It's certainly not a cheap project but surely interesting and out of the ordinary! You still have a lot of fun in front of you but everything looks very well done so far sir!
  23. I do love what you're doing sir! A real feast for the eyes and a good therapy for the well built and highly detailed models lovers... Another masterful build in the making!!!
  24. Thanks Mike! It could also sound redundant but I'm very proud to keep you smiling sir! This is the kind of part that I really love to make and I dare say that's one of my best effort on a drive shaft so far. Working with brass is quite new to me and I like the fact that this material can be welded, it opens up new possibilities for me, without forgetting the nice color contrast that you mentioned. Glad you noticed the rounded edges, I still have to fight against my bad habits... but it's starting to make its way... lol. Take care, Francis
  25. Thanks for the kind words Glenn, I really appreciate! Take care, Francis
