Formula 1 Cadillac
Mattilacken replied to lordairgtar's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That would be epic, and I belive many folowing the sport would encorage it. And if we compare where alot of the electricity (not regen of course) comes from, a good fuel would still be better. But then again should we grow plats for food or for fuel? Debates debates... -
Thanks allot everyone for your kind words! And I also hope the reissue this one. I do have a new kit as well that will be built some time that I got for original retail price since my lhs had missed to list it on their websites and was forgotten I their shelf’s. here is a photo of the car in its dedicated Aston Martin display with memorabilia from my practical training there in 2006.

Nice work! I can agree that the kit have its shortcomings, I have a build going on in WIP and group builds. I had a problem when installing the chassi with interior that the body did not seat as it should. I actually boxed my build for a while thanks to the issues.

I got this kit in a trade with s fellow member here on the board, it was built and some parts missing i took it mostly apart and repainted some parts as well as the body. Interior was painted in a flat gray so I only shot semi gloss clear and detailed it. The seats was replaced with a set of buckets that got a Prodrive decal and belts from “Kits world” and since I only had one set I improvised and extended the optional shoulder belts with Tamiya 3mm tape that I painted with Ohuhu acrylic markers of a similar color. And I made the passenger lap belts in the same way with some PE buckels. I did also make my own seat brackets out of some old floppy discs. And I might have put the seats a bit high. Steering wheel is replaced with a spare o deep wheel. Most decals was shot or missing so I coppied my new set with the printer(bad resolution I believe) and aded some others and printed new ones. Chrome emblems on the engine are from a Mercedes metal transfer I bought. wheels and tires are my own creation that I made to have a ofsett so they would lick the wheel well edge. otherwise quite out of the box. took two more in the afternoon sun.

Nice work on the vette! Chassi looks great. If you want to go the next step on your brakes paint the brake bad black/grayish.

Any Tutorials On Making Inkjet Decals?
Mattilacken replied to oldcarfan's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Nice decals! I have an issue with my inkjet printer and that is that they easily get blury, like smudged while printing. Need to try and let it dry better directly after i think. In the settings what "paper" do you mark it as, photo paper? I use Green World white ink jet paper and also have an other brand clear paper. I have a Epson Photo printer from 2012 that have otherwise worked well but the ink is getting pricey. I use Decal fluid on them after they are printed and that seems to work ok. -
Finding the right Wheels
Mattilacken replied to dreadpyrat's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
And regarding fitment, depends on what wheel and tire combo you get, but aoshima and Fujimi have an other fitment system than Tamiya. Tamiya have a 2mm rod, and the others have a cylinder. I have made this model of wheel that you can have. Can make the wheel with any backspacing so it fits your F40, the center al ready have tamiya 2mm. -

Got interior done made some seat brackets out of old floppy discs and I might have installed the seats to high up. But they look way more in scale than the kit piece. Belts are a combo out of kits world belts and Tamiya 3mm tape that I painted. screwed the body together with the chassis.. getting there..

True that, ford is almost more like a name sponsor in that sense. But of course they bring their own crew to the game. As long as they don’t put wet belts in the engines, right? 😉 -
Nice! Good job on those doors.

GM have not bought Haas, they start a new team, the 11th at the grid. powerunit is as explained above the combination of electric and combustion engine and al regen equipment and such. engines will be Ferraris until they can make their own. They need to engineer a new engine and probably make a new factory. Ford and Audi is making a new engine for 2026 but started couple years ago. -
I get that it went back. For me this chassi have been going back the box many times so many awkward things in my opinion so I don’t get interested enough to take my time to correct it. well keep at it!

Do you also have 1:1 project cars?
Mattilacken replied to ctruss53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
So i pusshed the pickup of the car until 5 of april but i stumbled over a set of wheels that should fit for a way to good of a price so i could not miss them. They are to big according to my first plan.. but that size does work on these since the wheel arches are so big. They are 20x10 and 20x10,5. also the new front quarter can be seen next to it. and the cast iron grill. It’s at least half an inch thick. -
nice progress there! Engine came out good, i have been looking at it many times and just put it back. nice to see it beeing built OOB.
