Since you mentioned Deco Art and alcohol Dave, I airbrushed Deco Art black enamel on a body today and didn't like some roughness after dryout with hair dryier. I had FolkArt black enamel and resprayed it and the Folk Art was smoother.

I'm not one to do major mods for fear of ruining stuff.

I just use the Chevy engine red on all chevy engines and to me it kinda looks orangy (?is that even a word?)

Makes sense David about the undercoating. Sound deadening also but the frame is metal and they are prone to rusting out. Good advise on the paint colors.

You always have good suggestions Dave. I'm not really expecting them to have the MM. I like the craft idea as I've kinda gravitated to them.

On what part of the car are you referring too Jim?

I'm making a Hobby Lobby run tomorrow to see if my local store has any of the MM Metalizer paints left on the shelf. Especially since the 40% is going away.

Wow Mark, you're putting in a tremendous amount of work on that one. Looking at the model last night, because of the way it has the moulded in rear suspension I'm trying to figure out how to put wide tires on the rear without them sticking out the side of the wheel well.

Yep, the finish is what I'm curious about. Maybe an off white and kinda dirty it up with a brown wash. I looked at some other pictures and it looked that way.

I was looking at reference pics of '63 Corvettes before building my '63 model and found the following interesting picture. Since I've seen most modelers paint the undercarriage all black you can see that the actual floorpan appears to be unpainted fiberglass. This picture is of a NCRS Top Flight rated restoration.

I have the "Street Rod" version of this kit and just opened it up. Yep, definately a "crude" kit and not what I was expecting; most all of the interior moulded in and all the chassis parts as well including the exhaust system. Not sure now if it's gonna be a mild street mod or Drag car. In spite of the deficiencies, you did a great job on it Lee?
