Thats correct Tom about the T-37 and Heavy Chevy.... also the Cutlass Rallye 350. Thanks for looking and the complements, I'm still a WIP tho?

Thanks David, thats true about the insurance too. Yep, would be nice to still have it. Crazy thing, after a couple of years, I decided to sell it and I bought of all things, the only foreign car I ever bought new, a Datsun 260Z.

Began this build late October and finished last week. This is a close replica of the car I ordered new in 1971. Since the 4-4-2 was a bit out of my price range I decided to order a kind of 4-4-2 clone. Yes, the scooped hood (option W-25) was ordered as well as was the dual exhaust which was an option. The rear bumper as seen in the pictures is not accurate as it came only only on the 4-4-2 but since there isn't a model car regular bumper available that I know of its what it is. Back when I picked up the car new I was pretty dissappointed because I thought by ordering the duals it's how it would come. It came with the "poverty hub caps". I put the Cragers on probably the first week I took delivery of it. Any way, as for the model, it's painted with Createx and topcoated with Rustoleum Acrylic Clear Lacquer. The color is pretty close to the original Saturn Gold. Thanks for looking. Thought I'd add this pic, this is a replica (almost) of the '66 GTO Convertable my now wife of 45 years owned at the same time

Now that we're on the subject, Molotow, Alclad or Spazstik?? Sorry if this has been covered already, if so just steer me in the right direction to look. -

Thanks "Snake". Since it was so freakin' long ago, I have no clue how I ended up building it like I did. -
Is it the Ultra-Bright version?? Having both, I second what previous posters said, the Ultra-Bright not so good as compared to the original.

Thanks Kevin. It was boxed up in storage for many years and I guess about 12 years ago I discovered it and it has been kept in a glassed-in curio cabinet. I'm amazed I had the skills that long ago to do the mods that were done. The sad part is, since I returned to the model car building hobby about 4 years ago, my skills still leave a lot to be desired. -

I'm not exactly sure whenI built this but I'm 75 years old and this was built when I was in my early 20's. As I very vaguely remember the paint was model spraycan paint, all trim brushpainted. -
Looks pretty darn good to me Ismeal?

Did you do the work on the car yoursef Jim? Back around1981 or so I was driving around looking at used Corvettes for sale. Driving past a new car dealership I spotted a Corvette in the back of the used car lot. I stopped to look at the '79 L82 painted in a gawd awful metallic orange color, knowing it wasn't a factory color. As the story went according to the salesman, the original owner didn't like the black color so had it painted International Truck Orange. He also for some reason, bondo'd a pacecar spoiler to the fiberglass body. I made a rediculous offer on the car and the salesman was all too happy to unload it. Anyway, I set up my garage and proceeded to strip the orange, bought a book about painting and borrowed a compressor and paint gun and repainted it with Acrylic Laquer. The spoiler had to be chisseled off paintstakingly as to avoid damage to the body. I installed a 1980 rear bumper as seen in the following pictures. About a year later I sold it for a pretty good profit.

Looks great Craig. Another testament for Acrylic Craft Paint. As I've said, easy to mix, generally seems to dry fast with little or no orange peel and easy clean-up. Lots of colors too and cheap.

Stalled 1967 Mustang GT coming back in the queue.
TransAmMike replied to Bills72sj's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looking great to me Bill, I don't see on here what paint it is and the color. I have never built a Ford model but my Daughter gave me the 66 GT350H kit for Christmas and I have been working on it. -

Oops!! You are right "Snake". I guess I stand corrected. It wasn't the case a while back the last last time I looked (at least the Lindberg kit that is)? -
Thanks again guys. Yeah, it only took me about a year to put them on....the decals.

TransAmMike replied to Dragline's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I now have 2 of the Lindberg '66's. They are now a super rare kit but my wife and daughter were able to win ebay action for Christmas present. The '66 is special for me as it was the first new car I ever bought back in the day. I have yet to start the builds until I feel like my skills are ready to tackle it. My intention is to build one as it came off the truck from the factory at the dealer and then as I modified it over a few years. My one dislike about this kit is the rarely seen bumper guards and I don't know if I can remove them without distroying the bumper -
A whole lotta work on this Nigel but gonna be a cool looking '67. Keep up the great work!!
