1941 Chevrolet COE
Big John replied to landman's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
AH, I was really looking forward to the pink and white scheme. How about a white top half to go with the wheels? -

Come on, that's a 1/2 scale car! Andrew, I'm proud of you, you actually used some brass in the build. Wonderful attention to the details as usual beautiful!

I like the Pink color I think a two tone Pink and white would be a great color combo for this one! -
1934 Bugatti Type 59
Big John replied to ModelcarJR's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
Hi John , Bugatti did race at Indy in 1923 with several cars and best finished 6th place. They were type 30s with custom bodies and the new 8cyl engines. I think MAM makes a 1/43 scale kit. -

No, not even news paper editors edit anymore judging by the egregious errors in both spelling and grammar.

Wonderful job building this vintage kit. A couple of years back at a historic race there was a fellow running a 1903 Cadillac. He and a friend of his were discussing what the firing order was, the decision was "1". Thanks for sharing!

Must be clean water, if it were prestone you would need a chartreuse mirror.
-
I like the mirror as an oil spill headed for the grate (and an environmental disaster.)

Yeah that worked great for the rack boots. Shrink tube also works well for corrugated radiator hoses. -

Looking back at the photos of your 1:1 subject car the floor is neutral gray epoxy paint with a few wear marks and tire tracks. Maybe a few water stains around the sprinkler risers? The mirror does kind of confuse the overhead view. that ll said, this has been an exciting build and great share! Thank you again for the adventure, looking forward to the Rolls custom roadster.

Try some heat shrink tubing for the boots, it works well and gives you some flexibility too. Wonderful detail on one of my favorite cars.
