  1. I have the same issues. Tried Molotow with same issue as you. Too afraid to try and do sides. Used a Sharpy metallic, which is better regarding runoff, but not real chromy. Also tried foil, which was too difficult for me (shakey). Been thinking next time I may just do in flat black, with dry brush, which is more realistic anyway.
  2. This is really cool. What is the wiring for?
  3. Thanks , actually toyed with doing some of the dash chrome, but decided no.
  4. Thanks
  5. Decided to add a bit of color to the rims, to ge with my color scheme. Used some blue food coloring with some clear coat.
  6. Had some time over the weekend. Interior is complete.
  7. Nice job! My cousin owned a 66 and It had some optional interior called "pony", I think. Car was a little beat, by 1978 when he got it, but I always liked the interior.
  8. Finished up the dashboard. Turned out ok. Had a bit of trouble with circular gauge decals sticking to chromed plastic, but they are there.
  9. Agreed. I hate doing distributer wiring, but the detail makes a big difference.
  10. This turned out really nice. Good job on those side decals. Those are very hard to get so straight.
  11. Turned out great sir. Your second to last pic in original thread is calendar worthy ?
  12. Your attention to details and skills are amazing! Not to mention degree of patience. Really enjoying your build.
  13. Thanks. Yes, agree. Planning to cover with clear flat. Might play with adding slight amount of green food coloring to it.
  14. Star of Rhodesia ?
  15. Thanks. I learn something new every day ?
  16. Nice! What does it do in the 1/4 mile?
  17. Looks great! What is the tank on the firewall?
  18. Thank you all for the 1962 Impala history. I could talk at length about my previous cars. However, back to the build...... Been working on the interior color scheme and went with two-tone, as will be the body. I may do a flat clear over the dark blue to tone down the shine a bit. Still needs some touch up (I shake a bit). Foil has some issues, but it's on. I'm done messing with it. I unfortunately have a batch of the "non-stick" variety. Was a pain, but finally developed a method of using an Elmer's glue stick to apply very light glue coat to the plastic where I wanted the foil to stick, let it dry for a bit and then applied the foil. After some time more for glue drying, I cut the foil and removed excess. Seemed to work well. Probably even better for someone who does not shake. Comments, advice and criticisms welcome. Mike
  19. Perserverance pays off. ? Looking forward to some pics.
  20. I little more progress. Started detailing the interior and worked on the radiator assembly.
  21. Love that movie! I'll be watching your build.
  22. I agree. I once owned a 67 corvair and the front end on this reminded me of it. Except that mine was a beater. Love that color.
  23. Thanks for the kind words guys. Funny how the paint went on the roof fairly smooth, but over the front fender wells, it has the orange peel effect. Hopefully, a bit of polishing after clear coat will improve it.
  24. Got some paint time in on the interior pieces and top half of the two tone body. I'm really liking the colors.
  25. I decided my hiatus from this project should end. After some wet sanding, swearing and more wet sanding, I have repainted the upper black metallic. Going to let it dry and then repaint the green lower half.
