How long to wait between colors?

Sorry about that. Surf Green over Laurel Green Or Twilight Turquois over Twilight Blue Poly. I think with this body design, with the dual chrome trim separating upper and lower, 2 tone should be easy to do.

Getting back to a previous comment from Thomas Coffey (Now I need a cup), below are the paints that I plan to use. First time around, I used a black primer, not sure if lacquer or enamel, but based on Thomas's comment, suspect it was enamel. This time I'll use Testers Grey primer Lacquer, Black Metallic enamel for the top and Tamiya TS-52, which I'm not sure, but think it is a Lacquer, for bottom. I'm hoping the black enamel goes over the grey primer, with no issues. Any comments and advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the great advice guys. I did wet sand it, but not too happy with result, so I'll strip it and start over. As for the foil, it is Bare Metal. Maybe I'll pick up another sheet. It was not overly sticking to the backing and was able to peel off OK, it just would not stick to the paint. Maybe on the shelf too long and lost it's tackiness? Oh Well, back to the drawing board. I spent a lot of time on the engine (sans brake cylinder) and interior, so want to do it justice.

Looks great! What does the red coloring on the stack "mouths" represent? Also, what is the white square on the fender well? Just curious. Like the color scheme too.

Almost went in the trash. Almost.

Been a couple months since I posted on this build, as I have been struggling with trying to do foil. Just does not want to stick for me. Even tried to do a thin film of glue and let It dry until just tacky, then apply foil, but the foil would not stick then either. After becoming frustrated, I decided to mask off the trim and paint with spray chrome. I even did the clear spray first, which worked well for the two tone body. Turned out to be a disaster. The chrome spray paint worked it's way under the masking in many places. Going to have to wet sand the body and start over. I was able to do foil on the area below one door.

My next venture will be this 1962 Chevy Impala SS. I've already started on the engine. I really like this kit. Lots of parts and good detail.

Hi all, I recently finished this modification of a 1930 Model A Pickup. The kit is a 1/32, with no engine and minimal drivetrain detail. I modified it into a Hotrod and added a 1/25 scale engine, trans, drivetrain and wheels / tires. Also modified rear suspension. This is a great thread! I wish I could contribute, but have not got the years of parts collecting behind me, nor the skills yet, but I am really getting a new found appreciation for late 20's, early 30's Hot Rods. Looking forward to more to come in this thread. Mike

I finished up a few details (taillight & plate, gas tank) plus some touch-up paint and am calling this one done.

Excellent job! If I did not know it was a model, I would have thought it was a pic of the real thing.
