So, with the rear suspension done, the chassis is complete, aside from wheels, which I intend to use the modern custom wheels and low profile tires that came with the kit.
-
Nicely done. Looks good. Once wheels are in place, nobody sees them, unless looking. But still......
-
Looking good! Can you provide a close-up pic of the assembled front suspension? Would like to see how your front springs look. Thanks, Mike

Dang! I just realized I forgot to trim the flashing from those exhaust pipes, duh. Eyes aren't what they used to be. Looks like crapola. Guess I'll have to do insitu.

Thanks Mike!

Good tip, I'll have to try that next time.

I always disliked how these springs look, so I sawed between the spring wires then painted flat black, followed by steel on the spring edges. the drivetrain is now installed.
-
A little more progress. Did some chassis work, front suspension and steering. Mounted the engine and custom exhaust. Heater hoses and positive cables. On to the drivetrain ?

Very nice job. I love the used car look. Earl Sheib would be proud.

Nice! Much better without the skirts. I love that front grill and bumper. Also, year of my birth, so kinda partial ?

The wheels came in the kit.

Agree wholeheartedly with above post. Nice job so far. Maybe try that green over yellow on a spoon?

Very nice and very clean. Not to step on your thread, but I built a 1959 about 10 years ago. Brush painted and not as nice as yours, but fun to build.

Looking good so far. How about white, or teal, for the fin?

Great job on that there Chevy! Engine detail and interior are superb.

Sounds cool, I will be following. What year is the car? -
Thanks for the tip John(?), I found some Tamia colors close to what I envisioned, so, will stick with them fo now. Next project I'll check out the website. I think you will enjoy working with this kit. Nice details and parts seem to line up well, so far.

So, a little more progress on the 409. I got the distributor and plug wires in place. Manifolds and carbs. I don't like doing the plug wires, but once you've done them, can't not do them. For some reason, the distributor kept breaking off, so I ended up drilling holes in the base of the cap and into the block, then put a post in to mount to. Ended up ok.

Wow! Excellent job. Gives me a high bar to achieve.

Looks great!

BMF looks pretty good. Did you use the masking tape method for cutting off the excess?

Looks good. I remember that Mopar color.
