  1. I'll share this story. When I was a kid and old enough to push my grandfathers reel mower (no engine) he let me start cutting the grass for him and would pay me 2 dollars a week. Now granted the yard was pretty small but to me 2 bucks was 2 bucks. Now my grandfather was set in his ways and had some rules about cutting the grass. Rule #1 was to tell him when it got to hard to push the mower because that meant he needed to sharpen and oil the blades. Rule #2 was never cut the grass down the middle of the rock driveway. Now rule #1 among the other rules he had it gave my grandfather time out in the garage, chicken coop, or the loom room so he could nip on the bottle so to speak. He had whiskey bottles stashed everywhere thinking my grandmother didn't know about them. Rule #2 was a little odd, he told me that the old 57 Studebaker leaked a little oil and by leaving the grass tall down the middle of the driveway would wipe the oil off the bottom of the engine while driving down the long driveway to the garage. Did it work....I couldn't tell you. Just never crawled under the car even though it was my first car when I turned 16. Moral of the story I guess is I always keep the blade on my lawnmower sharpened and check for any leaks on our vehicles and last but not least, although I don't hide whiskey bottle around the house I do hide money from the wife. Guess I learned something from my grandfather.
  2. Not much going on today on the Impala. I'm painting the seats with Anita's (Acrylic paint) Aegean Blue and the inserts with Anita's Gloss White. First coat is on.
  3. Say Dave....what's the cure time on the Testors enamel paint after airbrushing it before you can do anything with it?
  4. Back at ya dude. Your UFO truck looks similar to the truck I drove on the flight line when I was in the service.
  5. Yeah buddy. We drove the piss out of that truck and it never broke down.
  6. Thank you Jim.
  7. Garry. I have requested replacement part from Revell 3 different times. It took a few weeks but I did get the parts all 3 times. Make sure and send them pics of the bad parts and a pic of the kit you bought. Here is a link to their website where you need to fill out the form. Ignore the red banner that comes up. Hope this helps. Revell Model Building - Official website of Revell Germany | Homepage
  8. Happy Veterans Day to all you guys and gals that serverd our country. This is me back in 1973 on the island of Luzon on Clark Air Base in the Phillippines. That was the service truck we drove on the flight line. We maintained the Barrier systems (BAK-12, MA1A) on the runway. (Serice Date 1972-1976)
  9. Oh boy....I better make a run to my local hobby shop and see if mine is on the way.
  10. This should be a nice build Jim. I'll be checking in on this one. I've always heard that the Tamiya kits are top quality and would love to try one but they just don't put out anything inline with what I build.
  11. I know what you mean Dave. I'm now thinking...Did I get enough paint on, do I clear it, wet sand and polish, or just polish. What's your experience with it?
  12. I tried a new paint process today and I'm pretty pleased with the results. Testors paint thinned with lacquer thinner.
  13. That engine is looking pretty peppy James.
  14. Man that's a sharp looking Charger RT. love that Plum Crazy color.
  15. Good looking Charger Mario. Smooth looking paint job.
  16. Thanks Riley.
  17. Nice looking trio you have there. I like the 66 Nova but all 3 are nice.
  18. Sharp looking Charger Mario. That black looks nice. You produce some nice looking models.
  19. I stand corrected. I just assumed it was a bigger scale mode because of the size of the box. Why is the box so big for a 1:25 scale?
  20. Nice looking Challenger. That yellow looks pretty kewl and I always like that HemI engine.
  21. Well....I'm gittin there I guess.
  22. Ok fella's. It got to 60 degrees and the humidity was at 59%. Did a little paint testing with Testors paint. When I tried this some months back it did not go well. Using my Paasche H airbrush, Klean Strip Lacquer thinner, Testors red paint in the small bottle. Air pressure was set to 28-32 psi. I am so pleased with how this test turned out that this is my new paint process.
  23. Working on the suspension this morning. I think I have the rear where I want it after cutting the axle tubes down a little but the front tire are hitting the body. I'm sanding down the back of the hubs but not sure if I can get enough clearance.
  24. Thanks Dave. I really meant to paint the white first but that did'nt happen. To much in a hurry to get some paint on the body I guess. I was affraid all the tape on the blue would mess it up but it was fine.
  25. Thanks Tom
