  1. Good looking pair of cars. Nice job.
  2. Really nice. Green is tuff to pull off but you nailed it. love that engine bay Detailing and the foil work is outstanding.
  3. Thanks. Nice looking. I like the lighter shade of blue.
  4. Yup. Works out ok.
  5. Thanks Gene
  6. Got the airbrush out, mask off the sides of the 61 and shot some white on the inserts. Came out pretty good. I wrapped it up like a mummy but had to clean up some of the bleed through but came off with water. The foil should hide those rough edges. Hopefully.
  7. I appreciate it dude.
  8. Yup. There are so many different flavors out there to choose from. There's more than one way to skin a cat.
  9. Thanks Tom.
  10. I got the 409 finished. Still haven't decided if I'm going to paint the transmission. Started to apply the decals and they fell apart when I pulled them out of the water. Still need to do a little touch up but pretty much done.
  11. Holly strip job Batman ☺ Looks like it needs a little more time in the drink.
  12. Thanks Greg.
  13. Check that man. I'm just an average builder at best and love to see all the fine detail work that goes into most of the models on this site. I'm really amazed at the great paint jobs that are being layed down on these models. I've tried my best to get a good looking paint job but just can't seem to master it. Yup....great site.
  14. Haha...it's on like donkey kong ☺
  15. That UFO search truck looks pretty kewl. Nice job.
  16. That Hemi looks nice in the business end. I like the yellow. Really eye catching. Nice work.
  17. I just wanted to give a knod to all of the behind the scenes folks and all the model builders on this site. I retired a little over a year ago and decided to get back into model building after 50+ years. Yeah I know it's been a min. I really enjoy the hobby and all the knowledge I've gained here from all of you nice fella's. I really enjoy reading all the WIP and Under Glass threads while I'm setting here drinking my coffee every morning. All the eye candy is great as well. I have made some nice friends here on MCM and it really makes my day to shoot the breeze with some of you fella's. I think that's what I was missing was the interaction with people when I was working. Ok...I'm done. Let's get it on boys ☺
  18. Thanks Dave. I was going to paint the white insert first but I guess it slipped my mind.
  19. Thanks Dave. Yeah I think the key was warming everything up. I may do some testing in the dead of winter and see what happens.
  20. Haha...I know what you mean. Back when I was doing all my airbrush testing I went through a lot of different elixirs and settled in on the Purple Pond. That stuff is rough on your hands if you don't wear gloves.
  21. Hows it coming on the paint touch up Greg? What did you decide to do?
  22. Nice couple of models there to build. I see the Subaru Brat listed at HL all the time as in stock but they never have it. Would probably pick it up if they ever had it in stock.
  23. I was kinda looking forward to seeing the finished product on this one. Sorry it had to end.
  24. I remember this one in the movie. One tuff looking piece of machinery. Nicely done. Looks like the 1:1.
  25. Yeah I know the flat gray 2X primer I use lays down really nice and is different than the topcoat paint. I put my cans in pretty warm water for about 10 min before spraying and once finished I step back in the garage where it was about 55 degrees. It was around 48 degrees when I painted yesterday and the humidity was around 30%. I did not prime the body this time because I wanted the blue to be a lighter shade plus the Rust-Oleum 2X primer really takes a couple days before it's really cured. Probably a day or two longer in colder weather. Sorry it did turn out better for you man.
