possible Re-issue
ZIL 111V replied to JLDesignz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Great news! The kit was made by Revell US, back in 1983 to complete the Pete 359 & KW K100 Aero kits of 1982, no trailer brand ever mention. Tought that the mold was with Revell AG, in germany, since the late 80's. Last time i saw this kit available was in IMEX boxes back in the 90's -
Neat lil snapper kit i had, back in '79. As mention; reissued a few years back in Hot Truck series box with all Rescue parts & decals. Will surely be made in 3 colors ...Wish Round2 opted for the original 1979 ed box. ...'40 Ford coupe "Fire Chief" iz the only one missing in the seriese

The ARRI kits, first made back in 1993...costing over $30, not a bad kits, but a few flaws: body proportions not perfect..no upper typical GM door "belt dip" line, like the real ones, hub caps design not correct, as mention hartop of the Seville Cpe badly designed (BAD!), tire (tread) way to wide for 1958....no white wall inserts? , as for the engine basic but not so bad, not a perfect kit but an experience modeler can make a good job....too bad Monogram didn't do the '58 after theyre excellent '59. Lee as mention a poor, simplified, Chinese copy of ARRI kits...bad

Lindberg 1/25 Dodge L-700 & IMC Trailers
ZIL 111V replied to jeffb's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Hope not....lost & destroyed? in Japan? for ever or... hidden here? No doubt that if all the other IMC 1/25th car kits molds are alive & well, Round2 will surely reissue them...if they find them in dusty wood crates...Will see! Always tought that TESTORS, made a "run" here of those Ex-IMC's kits & shipped them to UNION: Memorial Collection series, back in the mid 1980's. UNION Model Co in Tokyo...Looooong gone indeed! -

DAF 3300 & Low Loader
ZIL 111V replied to camaro73's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very nice work! true we don't see these often, multi piece cab nicely assembled...good Italeri got ride of the 2 pieces plastic Michelin tires in latest limited reissue Remember getting the DAF 3300 Italeri kit, as a gift, when it came out in 1983. -
Great little car &... kit Round2 made another great reissue, with most of the original optional parts... way better then the '72 GT, Buyers Choice edition, a few years ago. Agree that better AMT GT Boxarts could have been choosen.

AMT 1/43 Scale "TnT Series" Truck & Trailer Kits
ZIL 111V replied to AzTom's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
RC2, back then surely did a run for Heller, doubt that the molds were ship over. Heller only had to box them in their on boxes with own "innacurate" boxart... NOTE that our french friends at HELLER made a few mistakes on the combo boxarts: the KW on boxtop is the extended 108" cab with later lower door handles & later design side grab bars/bumper!!!...different then the early 70's amt K123 kit. The 359 on box art is a 1100 cab, lower door hanles..with a divided grill in 4 section & bigger bumper!!! the AMT kit is a "small window" one....at least the artist got the "Wrecker" right! (trailers don't look like Fruehauf Reefer or Post either!!) Remember no Chrome Parts...."shocker" when i open the box back then Sure that Round2 as all of them. -
Like in the real car buisness... model kit makers "spy" & get infos on rivals, no doubt that the "APACHE" project developement was "terminated" when MPC got the news that Revell in L.A. was already on the exact same case circa the same years. Note the serial product number of the APACHE kit,....just following the brand new reetooled SM version of the PETTY Charger, in '78...gone today! Also check out the other ghost kit....1/20 '56 Ford Pickup with dirt bike in box

Remember a "ghost" kit that was promoted in the NEW section of the 1978 annual MPC catalog in BIG 1/16th scale (not the snap ones): Of the 4WD Chevy Stepside would have been marketed as the "APACHE" full detailed glue kit... never showed up.... Revell had the start on the same one!

AMT 1/43 Scale "TnT Series" Truck & Trailer Kits
ZIL 111V replied to AzTom's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
They came out in 1973, the Pete, KW, Reefer & post trailers, each in own boxes (Pete Wrecker later in '74) some were boxed in combos for retail stores (Sears), later in '77 One box combos (Truck n Trailer)were offered in same big 1/25 AMT truck boxes: Pepsi, 7up, GY, K-mart & others, the combos lasted until the early 80's under Matchbox/AMT, a KW K100 Aerodyne (not on your pics was also made in early 80's). as well as the seperate kits of the KW, Pete & reefer van & Pete 359 Combo truck & wrecker still available back then. ERTL kept the seperate kits, not the combos, until the mid 80's then all 1/43 truck n trailer kits vanished....until french HELLER reboxed them in big double combo box about ten years ago....but no chrome parts Nice kits for the times...Round2 should get those back on the shelves -
Stunning! Great looking 1976

1/16 Revell Hawaiian Dodge Charger Funny Car
ZIL 111V replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Fantastic news! -
Very nice kit from Fujimi indeed, of the very first generation Panteras (available at your Lincoln-Mercury dealers for $10.000 back in 1971). The Old Gunze/Testors/Airfix, editions are from the original Nichimo ciurbside "motorized" mold of the 70's of a "road racer" type looking Pantera GT4: tacked-on fender flares, sliding door windows, 4 corner slicks, also a very nice kit for it's time. Never seen any plastic kits of the later 80's GT5 version.

Fabulous!

42 years ago this simple kit (& not so accurate gasser...D/MS..WHAT'S THAT???) was mostly made for kids to have FUN as already mention...still with it's innacuracies a very good looking kit when completed for such a simple model kit. TD's best boxart ever
-
Stunning indeed from what you started from. As mention POCHER took the easy way back in the late 80's with their Testarossa/F40/Porsche kits...way simpler to assembled &.,.way less detailed then former legendary Classics car kit series, guess to broden their market share Amazing work...hope kool Sassy likes it!

Patriotic paint schemes
ZIL 111V replied to lapazleo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In fact MACK trucks introduced the "All American" cab paint scheme way back (circa) 1970, mostly with white painted frames, way before the Bi-Centenial craze of 1976. Was surely the best of them all... for trucks, very nice looking Take a close look at MPC first edition of the MACK DM 800 (tractor & ready mix kits) artboxes of...1971 Same excellent MPC boxarts carried over in ERTL boxes, when they got the DM800 mold. -
Dodge L700 Short Tanker
ZIL 111V replied to traditional's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
A beauty, nicely "smoothed" tank top section + great 2 tone paint & perfect cab parts ...fitting!!!, really nice. Got the same started project... in box (Cab assembly with openeing doors of this IMC L700 is.... Challenging kit indeed). -
Tough &...rare kit indeed, made it back in the early 80's...pretty tough, to get kit back then, here: (Protar kits where mostly unknowned 30+ years ago). Compared to Tamiya's 312B, this later B2 is a real challenge to assemble fitting issues in every steps!!!+++ those "squarred" off Firestones! (get the Tamiya 312B ones... LOL) Very Nice start, keep your patience &... spirit high, you'll get trough it ...Revell Germany should reissue this vintage Ferrari F1 beauty (with reetooled tires).

Got those rare kits back then... Back in the late 70's Japanese kit maker : NITTO, made 3 Mustang II kits in 1/16 scale, boxed in NITTO & US Entex boxes, all 3 could be "motorized" & have working headlights, true that the design & accuracy of many partsis not perfect but still the only 1/16 plastic kits of the II: -'74 MACH1 Hatchback -'75 GHIA Coupe -'76 Cobra II (also available in ENTEX box) Pretty rare stuff!!! All 3 kits totally vanished, since the 80's!!!
