???..Upsetting ROUND2??? As already mention....Strongly doubt that a few whinners will disturbed future AMT tractor/trailer releases. From what I hear a vast majority of truck Modelers (including me) are more then happy to get all those 70's Tractor IN & Trailers kit under $30...Whinners should remember the Stratospheric prices asked on eBay, not so long ago for the KW K123, Freightliner DD, or RR Log trl, Fruehauf plated tanker trl. Pretty sure Round2 received Tons of positive emails about all those great AMT Tractor/trailer reissues

Really nice piece... Beautiful work! on one of Monogram's Classic Muscle Car kit of the early 80's (1983), got to love those Monogram Muscle car kits of back then: accurate, easy to assemble & great results when completed, as shown with your beauty. Tres belle!

Talking about this lasting bitter feud: ....This entex kit would have kept attorneys on both sides, quite bussy, suing.....Entex! back then. ( A miracle Entex got away with this kit in the 70's ) Funny when you look at this typical 60's Ford race rig,can you imagine this "oddity" arriving at LeMans in '65,'66, or '67 & unloading Ferrari race machines....at the height of the war beetween Enzo & "HF2"

Amt Peterbilt coe
ZIL 111V replied to rssschris's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The "Turnpiker" 352 kit came out under the Matchbox Years in 1979, got mind back in 1980, as mention an attempt to market an old tool in a new package by adding a few Kustom parts & decal sheet. See it more as a: Kustom "Show Truck" replica attempt by AMT/Matchbox people then a working turnpike workhorse.... 5th wheel cover & those ugly wheels...a la "Centerline for class 8 trucks" !!!!... bits of hints! The Boxart, Kool designed decal sheet: (those graphics were very nice),Grill/ Texas Bumper & mirrors was the neat stuff about this kit....long gone since 80's under ERTL years. -
Really nice kit, typical of Monogram 1/8th kit series: Mostly accurate, simple assemblies: easy to built & really nice when finished. Nice simple kit that looks real sharp....Much better parts fitting then MPC 1/16th '84 Vette! ('84-'85 model year: pretty much the same)...Later Monogram 1/8th scale were really nice kits:('78 Vette, '79-'80 Trans AM, '82 Vette,'82 Z28, '85 IROCZ & Vette) super easy to make & stunning when completed, even OOB. Bought mine back in 1989 at local Toys-R-Us far about $39 (loooong gone!), when they had tons of kits on shelves... back then!!! Was the last, brand "new" 1/8th scale tool back then ('85 IROCZ was based on the '82 Z28).Gone since early 90's, never reissued:(tought it would come back when'85 IROCZ 1/8th kit came back e few years ago). Go for it, nice kit, got one mint on eBay for real cheap.

Kenworth k123 w/ drom box
ZIL 111V replied to drinkone2's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Stunning! Really beautiful piece, like the 70's "WestCoast" look, also like the front disk/rear spoke wheels combination, so common back then. Very nice & inspiring. ...Think i'll buy a few KW K123 kits next month -
Beautiful kits indeed. IMEX US reboxed those great kits for North American market back in early 90's. The 1/12th HD kits were Japanese IMAI kits, very nice kits(IMAI also boxed the Protar 1/9 HD kits for domestic Japanese market only, back in early 90's. The 1/9th HD kits were Italian PROTAR, kits, again beautiful kits as expected by PROTAR, remember getting the FXSTS Softail, FLSTN Heritage (white walls) & the FLSTF "Fat Boy", back in 1993, all beautiful when completed. 6 or 7 kit versions were made by Protar & boxed by IMEX. Those Protar 1/9th kits are really nice.

AMT's 1/43 truck 'n' trailer kits are really nice "full detail" kits presented back in 1973-74. 2 Tractors: Pete 359(Small Windows)/ KW K123, and 2 Fruheauf box trailers(Rinsby Reefer/APA Post), a 359 Holmes tow truck version & finally a KW K100 "86" Aerodyne (RARE), were made in the series, AMT did a really nice job on all, fully detailed frames & engines like the bigger 1/25th ones...remember buying most of the sets back in 70's early 80's. You could buy them all in seperate boxes or sets, in 1976-77 Truck-Trailer "one box" sets were made available: PEPSI/GoodYear KW, or 7UP/K-MART Pete, a double Pete 359 (tractor/towtruck)..to name a few. AMT kept them all in catalog thru the 70's, Matchbox also did until '83 (seperate kits & sets), ERTL only kept the Tractors : Pete 359 Tractor & Towtruck, KW K123 & Aerodyne, until 86-87 The kits did comeback (in 2003 approx) when French Heller boxed them in a trio box: KW123/Pete359/359 Wrecker, also got the Wrecker 359 sold in it's own box (did not see the KW Aerodyne).... Oddly ....no chrome plated parts...all white plastic!!!!! Really nice models when completed for such a small size, again AMT did a great job back then on such "tiny" kits. Wish Round2 could bring back all of them....with chrome plated parts

AMT Ford Econoline vans?
ZIL 111V replied to Aaronw's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In fact AMT introduced the Ford Econoline kit back in 1976, the first edition was made as a "custom factory" option model available back then at Ford Dealers: 2 tone paint job with graphics, sporty wheel caps, porthole side windows, captain seats, etc. No "finished" interior like the MPC Ford 1/20 or Revell Chevy 1/25th 1/16 Custom vans kits of the day. In the "VAN Craze" of the 70's the same kit was reboxed in "Custom Van" editions with custom parts: "Vantom" "Disco Van" "6 Wheeler" & "Matilda" versions were made thru the 70's until 1981-2 under Matchbox, since 1983 all AMT Ford vans gone. MPC also made the same Generation Ford Econoline Van in "Custom Van" form, in the same time line: "Sorcerer" "Sunrunner" & the very, very, neat 4X4 "Off-Road Van". Later versions where tooled with factory stock "square hedlights" grill, kept thru the 80's. Again the MPC Ford Econoline vanished in the mid 80's never to come back.(MPC 1970 1/20th Ford Econoline Van kits were also great kits...also long gone) -
Was wondering how many many kit versions of the '67 (68) Mercury Cougar were made in the late 60's...(2-3?) -Rupp & Steffey STP Cougar -"Dyno" Don nicholson Eliminator Cougar -Kenz & Leslie 777 Wynn's Cougar...(Model King exclusive edition)??? ...Any other versions made by MPC with the same Cougar F/C kit in late 60's early 70's? Noticed that the body as a hood "cut" in front of windshield with no scoop or filling panel provided: the RS STP cougar had a small hood airscoop, the "Dyno" had no scoop at all & the KL 777 Wynn's had 2 small double scoops...was this "cut" made later for another version or was the body always like that?

Peterbilt 352 coe to be reissued!
ZIL 111V replied to Mr mopar's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Monogram's 1/32 352 "110" COE is surely great news, only ONE edition of this kit was ever made: introduced back in 1981 & made available until the mid 80's, then totally vanished for nearly 25 years...rare very rare... the 1/32 snap 352 in mint condition was getting pretty pricey on eBay ($80 was common for a sealed box). Looks really great for a small scale "snapper" kit when completed....hope the original '81 "Winslow" type graphics will be in box...not in "peel'n'stick....stickers ...Pretty sure AMT'S 1970 Pete 352 will come soon...2011??? let's hope with original T502 "Long Haul Lines" & "Taurus Trucking" decal sheet. -
amt white western star kit
ZIL 111V replied to 379_pete's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
AMT's Western Star kit T541, was first issued in 1973-74, then reboxed in 1978 a 2nd time in GP "Georgia Pacific" T546 version. the Western Star kit was droped out in the early 80's when Matchbox took over, the kit as totally vanished for nearly 30 years. Rare indeed....so a complet/mint edition WS kit can get very, very, pricey Tought that this rare tractor kit would be the next one reissued by Round2, since the(upcoming) Road Boss was still available until the late 80's in the 2nd edition Branch Express livery...hope to see the WS back in near future. -
Nice to see the convertible version back. What a great kit, still remember when i bought the original edition back in late 1992: total knock out... surely one of Monogram's best car kit ever, no wonder it won the "Kit Of the Year" award back then. Fantastic kit. (Funny that Revell never made a LowRider version, like their '59 Imapala). ...(Did Tom Daniel design the boxart: Pink '59 on original '92 edition box?)

1970's boat tail buick rivieras
ZIL 111V replied to junkman1153's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
...Always wondered how come this beauty (1971) was never kitted in recent years, surely one of the most "daring" car design of the 70's. To bad Buick & AMT back stopped the annual Promo/kit in 1969, a '71-'73 Rivy Promo/kit would have been great. With all the Lowrider "craze" back in late 90's mid 00's in model car kits tought we would see this "Queen" in 1/25th Lowrider form especially from Revell (fully detailed, curbside or metal kits) at least we got it 1/64 diecast ...If '72 Cutlass marketable...surely a '71 Rivy will come one day Good luck with resin kit. -
Very nice looking Astro. Kool artwork. Remember seeing one very, very, rare custom Astro's, back in late 80'S similar to the one on your pic, probably from C&C: extended cab, "H" grab bars, stacked square headlights in "funky" Mayflower VL paint scheme. Wonder how long:(years) & how many were made by C&C.

...Styling wise: -'29 Cord L29 (So low for it's time). -'33-'34 Fords (30's Fords are just great looking as decade goes on). -'33 Cadillacs V16 -'39-'41 Packards Darrin Victoria -'37 Cord 812 (Master piece design). -'40-41 Continentals (Another beauty). -'41 Cadillacs -'53 Studebakers ("Dramaticly" new for it's time). -'55-'57 T-birds. -'57 Chrysler Corp complet car line (..A "shock" in fall of '56 for GM & Ford design execs ) -'61 Continentals -'63 Vette SW (can't pass this one -'68 Charger -'70-'74 Challengers -'70-'73 Firebird Trans AM ("Knock Out" design for early 70's) -'71 Riviera -'71 Mustang Boss/Mach1.

Whos gonna build one like this?
ZIL 111V replied to Scott S's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Oil field export indeed. Looks like a special order workhorse for export markets: Middle East or Mexico/South American oil producing coutries. ...Filling all fuel tanks of this "Mamoth" in OPEC countries not so hard on wallet -
Originaly this 1303S kit was made by IMAI back in late 70's- early 80's in their "Junior Series" also including the: 1303S Convertible, Mini Cooper S, Renault 4CV, to name a few. The Original IMAI boxart was pretty neat showing a "sporty" yellow 1303S: sporty mags, sport stripes: lower body & 2 front fog lights...still there! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74620&hl=beetle A very controversial & weird!!! German "III Reich" black version was also made in the 80's. IMAI's "Junior Series" depicted "Junior" cars, intended to a "Junior" market (kids): Easy to assemble, "fairly"!!!accurate for kids , motorized & catchy boxart highlighted this series of kits. As you mention, pretty basic motorized curbside toy to assemble &.... play with! Body proportion are a bit off as for the balance of the kit (pix worth a 1000 words)...simplicity at it's best. GS excellent '56 Curbside...day & night with this curside Beetle kit

amt fruehauf tanker reissue.
ZIL 111V replied to MICHAEL COLE's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Great news The "Chrome" plated tanker version (1971) totally vanished for well over 35 years ...another great reissue, hope we get the vintage TEXACO logos illustrated on pic for tanker &...tractor, will chrome tank parts be pack in "wax" paper? ...Other long gonner: KW K123 surely welcome too, after absence of over 20 years....wondering what will be the reissued version decals...Intestate Motor Freight Syst, of first 1971 edition T520 kit. -
Beautiful piece great ext/int color combo + love the "AMT annual 1969" box(art) & Kustom parts. IMO the '69 was the best looking of the '66-'69 generation. ...Always wondered what was the faith of the AMT 1969 Continental mold....Where is it??? totally vanished for nearly 40 years! ERTL did bring back the '65 in the 70's,80's,90's...but the '69 never came back....gone for good?

A beauty ...love the color, metallic colors are awesome on this car, a great kit for it's time Potters Bar... was were the plant of Revell(GB) was located, (in greater London area)...distributing Revell US kits in their own boxes for specific UK &...Euro Market. Many of the box photos made by Revell GB were also used on later ADVENT/Revell boxes kits in the 70's early 80's.
