  1. MCM should make a Lou Kroak article,(one of the best waaaaay back), with a few of is 70's-80's trucks to his newer builtups, would be just great!
  2. WOW!!!!...remember seeing your very nice BIG 359 pete back in 1981 in O/O mag, a superb build indeed. Surely one of the best of 1981. Can't help notice that this great kit is coming back in original box... in a few weeks
  3. Great Detroit Iron, for sure! COPO....Where are the steel wheels/dog dish hubs? Like the profile or the actual Camaros, but...True that the CI hood on this one look a bit "over"styled.
  4. Remember when this one came out back in 1993-94, a full detailed 58 Eldorado kit...from Japan....Wow! Monogram just issued back then (late '92) it's wonderful masterpiece : '59 Eldorado, tought ARII kit would be a "top notcher". Paid $30 back then, at LHS, got the green one home (convertible closed top), opened it & compared it to the Monogram's kit costing 1/2 less, noted that the ARII kit was slightly less accurate in some points: Body: missing typical Hearly Earl "dipped" belt line (upper doors) straight on body, pretty simple innacurate hub cap design, tires are a bit to wide (tread) for '58, blackwall....no whitewall inserts at this price??? the closed convertible boot not accurate, as for the Seville Coupe version as Ed mention: "Wonky Way" indeed & not well designed (proportions), engine bay pretty...empty!!! in details compared to Monogram excellent '59 kit, as for the engine, interior & frame/chassis passable... but nothing to write about, Chrome parts were badly plated on mind (translucid effect color plastic showed thru), but probably solved by now..$30 back then! after nearly 20 years....still on the sheves! (if yu're lucky you can get it (90's editions) for about for half the price on eBay ) Seen a few built in contest, with patience & TLC possible to achive a good lookin model. Watchout for the LEE "Chinese".. nearly copycat, CHEAPER but... slightly worse ... can't beat Monogram's '59 Masterpiece
  5. True that ERTL N10, was way better, then the Pete 359. Back in the early 80's ('80',81',82',83'), a bunch of plastic 359's kits were introduced: Monogram got 3!!! 359's, from '80 to '82 (all coming back): 1/16, 1/32nd & 1/25th Snappers. Revell US introduced the Fantastic: "Black Magic" 359 kit in '82 (What a great kit!!!) Testors got the 359 in 1/20nd around the same time. ERTL too got in with the "Precision Series" !
  6. When i first saw that ERTL Pete 359 kit, with "Metal" frame back in 1983 (-84) in LHS, was impressed... by the box top picture. (really nice pic)....the sides box photos were less impresive (tought to my self this must be the "prototype")...must look better in final kit form :(ERTL International kits were fantastic), got it, open the box..... Is it on Round2 future truck reissue list ? ...Nice decal sheet dough with "Australian" optional parts
  7. Very, very, nice OOB job, of one the most beautiful Muscle Car ever In fact your version is the exact same replica of OTAKI's very first version of this 1/12th kit, back when it was introduced in the early 70's, was molded in white & black with the '70-'72 T/A center Blue stripe decals....a bit later in the 70's the box art will be redone in red with the '73 full size hood "Screaming Chicken" decals in various colors (kit still molded in white & black). True that the kit is not perfect: body proportions & pretty simplified/basic: engine/chassis/susp for this scale...but then again was a typical early 70's Japanese 1/12th "motorized" kit to build &...play with! ... After all those years the "real" rubber tires tend to flat &.... crack! Like the 70's CA plates
  8. Just Great! Awesome looking kit for it's time... (photo on 1980 boxtop was stunning) Molded in yellow & black?... like in 1980!!!
  9. Fantastic! This time with the original early 70's boxart &.... complet decal sheet! (not the corny 1993 ed decal sheet) Way to go Round2 ...Green "Builtup" just look marvelous, really nice ( AMT Uniroyals or MPC Goodyears tires in this one???)
  10. Nice build of a nice & VERY rare kit, now commanding "stratospheric" prices Got it in 1979 for $30! in original japanese Edai/Grip box, last time I saw it, LHS back in 1986 in Revell (Master Modeler Collection) series box selling for $45....then vanished for ever The 72D "JPS" is surely the most beautiful F1 ever designed...still looks great after 40 years, a real beauty ....Gone for so long!....Where is the Mold of the 1/8th 72D JPS F1 (M23 & RSR) today???
  11. Got to admit that R2 is doing a fantastic job right now with all those great truck kits reissues,(in original boxes), since 2008. The following Looong gone kits (20-25+++++ years) would also be nice. All gone since the 80's: AMT: -White Western Star...Really tought that this one was next on R2 list, gone since the early 80's. -Pete 352 "Turnpiker". -KW W925 Alaskan Hauler (one of AMT's best tractor kit ever)...total dream to see this one back for sure, but we can dream! -KW K100 Aero, Tyron Malone's "PAPA/Hideout" trucks. -Ford CL/LTL 9000, 1/32 Snapers, gone since the mid 80's. ERTL: -IH Paystar 5000 "Logger" with log trailer in same Combo box....rare combo..loooooooooooong time no see! -IH F-2575 "S" series...decades I've seen this one! -IH 9670 COE, 1/32 snapper. MPC: -Mack DM 800/Gravel trailer, in COMBO box. -Mack DM 800 Ready Mix. ...AMT(ERTL) KW T600...NO thanks!!!
  12. Got that one back in the late 70's in ENTEX box. Not bad...but not the best, pretty basic & simple Bandai large scale "motorized" toy to assemble &..play with!!!: Cons: Simple assemblies, many innacuracies: bad innacurate V8 engine/ rear differential, basic one piece frame/chassis, basic suspensions detailing, pretty basic detailed interior/top...BAD Wire mags (could have been much better at this scale....ouch!!!!) Pros: Body design & proportions are good ++++ molded open hood louvers, really nice real rubber Firestone tires, like also the flexible metal side pipes look 1st version with 4 "Cycle" fenders, 2nd version with full sidesteps/fenders. ...Bought a few (full fender version) for dead cheap in FUMAN boxes a few years back, on eBay...still available, with a little TLC the kit can look good....just don't show... keep hood shut!!! & replace the wheels ..check out the attachement will give you a good idea.
  13. Very, very, good question for "classic" car kit builders... So painting my 1/10th scale Ideal Toy '34 Duesy SJ or my MPC '32 Imperial... Met Dark Gun metal or Met Dark Bronze would be period correct? Always tought that metallic colors became a bit more popular (on top notch US prestige cars) from the late 1930's on, we often see late 30's Packards, Caddies, in silver, gold, or metallic colors (mostly dark hues) of burgundy, marine blue, leaf green or bronze to name a few met shades...guess those metallic finihes were a tiny (minority) color options in the 1930's chosen by wealthy buyers.
  14. Beautiful! Bandai outdone themselves, nearly 40 years ago, with the introduction of this superb Mercer kit, surely one of Bandai best 1/16th scale kits. Got a few Mercer 1/16 kits, in Chinese FUMAN Edition boxes, on eBay for dead cheap a few years back.
  15. ...Very, very, impresive, Herr Stunning "curbside" indeed of this legendary "beast"
  16. As already mention former Renwal kit from the mid 60's (in their 1/12th big car "TOY" kit series) landing at Revell in mid 70's, surely not accurate to today's standards: as you can see body proportions are not the best, as for frame/ engine/interior, pretty basic detailing & so-so accuracy for such a large scale kit...but then again, the kit was made mostly for kids 45++++ years ago Revell's mid 80's slight Shelby version "retooling" is surely not perfect, but again, after all those years, still the only 1/12th large scale '65-'66 Mustang plastic kit to this day, long gone &...so pricey! now a days...kool if Revell could bring it back simultaniously with the upcoming 1/12 2010 kit, introduction
  17. Very nice combo with a "longoner", like the decals on both....from what kit? Both AMT's Ford CL/LTL 9000 1/32 snapper kits came out back in 1981 under Matchbox ownership, to compete Monogram excellent 1/32 Tractor/Trailer series. AMT did a pretty good job for snappers on both Ford kits...both gone since late 80's, 20+++ years,(Kenworth Aero & Volvo/trailer reissued in the 90's). Sure wish Round 2 would dig both AMT 1/32 9000 Fords (Mack SL, ERTL IH 9670 Eagle kits) in near future ...Another longoner :60's Renwal/later Revell, GMC 6X6 Crane (Tow truck) kit....also remember buying Revell Germany 1/32 snapper truck kit series back in the early 80's (basic kid kits of Volvo GT, Bison/General kits no chrome plated parts).
  18. Gakken '28 MB, wire wheel assembly is pretty confusing at first..took me about 7 or 8 attempts to get it right! when you get the correct "rule"....try to finish all the 5 next ones... ASAP! Hard work but worth it... the look of those wire wheels is just great. Bandai's RR Ballon, wire wheels assemblies are better explained....+++ sewing tread:(cord) is easier to work with (flexibility) then metal wire tread.
  19. As mention by ModelTruckbuilder, AMT got it right back in the mid 70's, when the kit was 1st introduced, the hood of the RoadBoss was design to "float" on (2)rubber cushions, leaving space beetwen cab & hood (eliminating rattles...as mention & better hot air extraction) + on styling side :giving a "1/2...hidden wiper" look with a "flared" top end hood, so common on many cars back then, hood designed by non other than... Larry Shinoda. Love the kool graphics of the RB back then (on Catalog &... AMT boxart real sharp!)
  20. Great work on this pretty basic "Korean" Academy kit....(got one a few years back..tought was too "toy" looking!) Wire wheels are really sharp. Very, very nice work.
  21. Kool to see this one back before it's gone forever ...."Final production run" MPC "Retooled" the 1/16 PETTY Charger Nascar kit back in 1978, as the Street Charger, molded in black, with a typical 70's street machine look, the kit was available until the mid 80's (also in red plastic), long gone for over 20+ years Looks like R2 will make a last run of this one, before they "reverse" it back to it's original PETTY version.
  22. Kool quiz! ...Also got them all 48:(4 pix of tailfins, only, should have been added...so typical of 50's car design). ...Any quiz with 48 russian cars of the 50's now!!!
  23. Kool.....Love CHP "muscle" cars!

Made the '93 Firebird 1/20th waaaaaaaay back!

    nice kit.

As mention will pack & ship soon....you may get a few "extra" car parts collecting dust on my shelves.....Michigan not so Far won't be long to reach your door step..use to stay in Detroit "area"...but Canadian side!!! now liv...

  24. Kool!

Need only the white stripes set: HOOD/CAB/SLEEPER (to place on Revell,s gemany W900 I,m working on)....no :Lightning stuff needed!!!

Let me know how much if your intrested to part....need it for next contest in May.

    THX

  25. 40+ old kit as mention not bad for it's age....Take great care of it:RARE! Really rare, like many of the 60's-70's Bandai 1/2Oth "motorized" scale car kit series, this 1/20th Capri kit as been long gone...over 30 years. Introduced by Bandai in the early 70's(also in 1/24th) & kept in production until the early 80's..vanished since then. ...The best 70's Capri (1st Gen) kit I recommend, is the Excellent AMT 1/25th scale kit, very nice & accurate
