  1. Never been a fan of the II's, even MPC & AMT annual kits looked super dull to a kid of the 70's but... Still remember when i got this one back in 1979, at local K-Mart, surely the best looking Mustang II ever:
  2. Plated version is great! Not perfect fitting, but way easier to put togheter then the AMT Fruehauf one, for sure. Indeed a Plated tanker only issue (no L-700), would be welcome, this 60's early 70's period plated tanker trailer would look great (way better!) behind AMT's : Pete 359/352, KW K123, Diamond Reo, Western Star to name a few.
  3. Thx to all... In fact i got the very first Street Rod edition way back in the late 70s (birthday gift), to be honnest was not a big fan of the looks.... Pontiac Trans AM wheels on a street rod? few "Street" parts, the way too high "truck" stance + that dull burgundy color, not really the Street Rod look i was expecting, even as a kid : When saw the Revell "Bomba" version, back in 2000, tough the kit was waaaaay better looking, with smaller diameter wheels/tires & lower suspension leafs...giving it a longer wheelbase & lower stance looks, way better looking (gracious) for sure then the first 70's edition, but thats only cosmectics! no "Hydro" stuff to be found (like the other Revell Low series kits) anyway good looking L.A."Bomba" type kit.
  4. Good ol Monogram '39 Chevy coupe EX-street rod... in its late 90s 1999-2000 Revell boxing: "Bomba/Lowrider" look, mostly OOB: Model Master Lime Green + BMF sealed by MM clear coats...
  5. No email reply indeed... "We will bring back what was lost???" a bit fishy, since, as already mention, Monogram took most of Aurora molds back in 1977'78. (Casper's "Undertaker" was reissued by PL).
  6. $2000 royalties a day for...Sting, ex POLICE lead singer Sting . "Every breath you take".
  7. Great news! Model King reissue a few years ago was a hint that this one would be coming. 70's "Boondocker" edition was IMO one of the best version of this kit with those great GM "Feathers" mod bods graphics:
  8. WOAH!!! Very, very nice, impresive & meticulous work... also see you know your Rock music history!
  9. My 2nd Tom Daniel all time favorite , another great early 70s TD show rod design, still with us. Again straight out of the box, good'ol Testors purple metal flake (this color as been around for decades!) covered by several clear coats + small detail painting & blackwashes on the "bony" stuff, can't beat this classicTD/Monogram show rod kit with its wild "Bad ...Curse !!! " look:
  10. Not a beauty! looks like Mazda is stuck in an "overstyling" period reight now but less "feminine" look , guess Mazda trying to reach a larger male clientele... Indeed a Z4 was probably studied in Mazda design studio when the design process was going on.
  11. Super! tres beau! iconic 70's 4x4, always liked the design of the ScoutII. The MPC Canoe is a very nice & accurate detail for that type of vehicule, remember seeing fishers & hunters way back in the 70's carrying a Canoe on top of those 4x4 (ScoutII's, Blazers, Jimmys, Broncos, Wagoneers, etc), heading for lakes/wild country in Michigan or up in Canada. Can't beat that color & those lovely Michigan "Bi-Centenial" plates!
  12. Great little series introduced by AMT, back in 1973, really nicelly detailed for the size, look great when completed, remember building the complete series as a kid back in the 70's, in combo boxes: PEPSI, 7Up, Good Year, K-Mart, the Pete 359 Holmes "Twin boom" tow truck is a real little gem. Neat "recommended" kits indeed. As mention guess its a question of time before Round2 reissues the complete "T'n'T" 1/43 series.
  13. Same kit, (but white & different decals for Revell AG) Introduced back in 1980 with "reversed side" air filter & bigger sleeper the Mono 1/25 & 1/32 359 Snappers. Odd that this big kit did not have... twin air cleaners!
  14. WOW! Pretty exiciting to see the Chrysler Turbine & especially the 1959 Dodge from Johan , wonder if other Johan kits/promos, will be saved... "resurected" in near future, tought that Johan's '59 Dodge was loooooooooong gone!
  15. More than twice the price asked here, for the exact same kit !!!! (minus the ugly Revell AG decals). Oddly, when i read the side boxing of my 359's Revell US :"SSP" (latest yellow edition) was made in... Poland! since Revell Germany has a "cheap labor" plant there...Meaning Monogram Pete 359 1/16 mold (like other 1/16 truck molds & others!) still in hands of Revell Germany.
  16. ... ZIL111V limo, would have been a way better choice!
  17. Thx again for great comments ... "Coverage issues " know what you mean...Here's my 5 cents tip... No base coat, but many, many...many, "thin" coats to build a "deep &... even" effect, believe me one heavy coat wont give you the great result I got on this "Fat fendered" gasser. "One coat", like Testors advertise on the can is not the best way to achieve a perfect result, (at least in my case when i use those Lacquer Kustom colors on my models), maybe on a "skate board" but surely not on a 1/25th scale car body, you definitely need to spray many thin "dust" coats to achieve a nice coverage & "even" metallic finish, let the paint layers dry a week to assure that metallic pigments wont "rundown" when it will be time to "shoot" the clear coats...again thin coats
  18. An other recent builtup "OOB" Straight from the Box: Revell's excellent '41 Willys Gasser: Testors Mystic Emerald, BMF, sealed by various clear coats, must admit that this Mystic Emerald color is gorgeous. ..."Rear view" looks the best! LOL!
  19. THX for 100% positive comments guys! Yes the tricky part of assembling this TD kit, is the 4 piece body & especially the "top" section, with that ugly seam: had to "mold it" in one piece, believe me getting in the seat/floor single part later, was the real challenge here!!! Indeed BMF was used for "drilled" exhaust tips & widow frame, personaly think it looks way better. Always nice to see those old Monogram kits still around, 1968 in this case, but must admit that the chrome plating finish on chrome tree (engine parts) was a bit on the low side (very thin & grainy!!!).
  20. WOW! Vive la France!
  21. "OOB" straight from the box: Testors Ice Lime + clear coats, black washes & BMF touches here & there. One of my Tom Daniel favorite...First pix a bit scarry!!!:
  22. Lets hope for the best, the 4x4 version was great.
  23. 70's Wolf special best looking one!
  24. Slow builder... "OOB" Straight from the box, nearly finished...after 4 years!(few touch ups to fix). Built the 1st Monogram edition (1982/83) back then, looooved it! but long gone! Had to get it when it came back 4/5 years ago, not bad looking kit for a "former snapper", reminds me of these superb KW Aerodyne of the 70's I used to see when traveling on higways as a kid, got to admit it, those Kens Aerodyne (1st Gen) were very nice looking.
