  1. I use this for all PE bending, but there is a smaller version too. Tamiya also has bending pliers small and large as well. Tools to have if you do a lot of PE or just when you hit that: " If only i had" moment. Is your PE tool similar?
  2. That's the only thinner i use for almost everything it's that good.
  3. I've never used Tamiya's paint TS or LP or XF on car bodies only on small parts or interior parts so i have no experience with 2K over Tamiya paint. Only use 2K over auto paints i.e Zero Paints, Gravity Colors, Scalefinishes, MCW. I think OP probably giving up on this post by now lol.
  4. Never had tamiya tape pull off paint or clear sticky or not sticky so I'm not sure what's going on there. But i always just put the tape across my palm if i need to de-tak it. I build up 2K clear, and can end up with 4-5 coats, and not have it look like syrup. The first coat always mist coat where it looks pebbly, and than build it up from there as i never do a heavy wet coat just medium wet coats. But at the end always check for orange peel, to add little more clear to get rid of the orange peel. How you see 2K clear at the end after it self levels is how it will cure.
  5. Def gonna have to give the Alsa a try. I've almost purchased every other chrome airbrush product on the market lol so guess another couldn't hurt. I also own the aqua gloss clear by Alclad as i own ton of there products, just never used it on other chrome products as it dulls the finish.
  6. Doesn't look bad at all. I guess it's worth the $160 for the 6oz can if it's that durable as you say. I was saying $200 before because of the hobby kit. The video i seen on there site the guy just sprayed in on the black lightly, and threw heat on it, and the chrome just turned into a mirror. I still think spazstix is close to it though the airbrush version. I might get some of this alsa chrome though after watching more videos on it just because how durable it is. Guy used tar and wax remover chemical on a test helmet, and it didn't touch the chrome at all....Now that's good stuff.
  7. Nice man. Did you trade a kidney? That’s a rare expensive kit lol
  8. I think you're right. But you can buy both versions online in the states, and there both the exact same product. So i guess it boils down to Alclad Alclad or Ammo by mig "the original" Alclad lol
  9. True. But your pic the kit chrome is acceptable when you give it a good wash like that (Doesn't look like a toy). Lot of kit chrome is actually very good, and just need a dullcoat on it like testors. Dunno if there would ever be a sprayable chrome paint that'll allow us to do what you can with kit chrome. Unless you can do that with the Alsa stuff than it's not worth $200 in my opinion. If it was only the right rim in the pic shown i would be fooled in thinking that was redone, and black washed. Be cool if the guy that's been using the alsa stuff as long as he has could do some testing with washes etc, and give us some results to see if it would be worth the money or not if it's that's durable.
  10. Yes 2K wont damage decals at all, but don't hose it on though spray it the right way. Tamiya's clear will damage decals though.
  11. They have a hobby kit that can be used in airbrush it's $199. But i think Alclad & Spazstix & few others give amazing results if sprayed right for less money. But to get the best out of any chrome it would go like this: " Black +2k clear+chrome" But using gloss black base works good enough for the shine that's why we all use gloss black base. I LOVE alclad's black base & AK's black base stuff is like magic to me lol. Yeah I've seen that reviewed, and it's a meh.
  12. That's because Cali is cancer itself LOL
  13. Might could try Amazon, because you can get everything from A to Z on there haha.
  14. I know ammo by mig has alclad and the labels say "The original". I'm not sure if they partnered with them or not.
  15. Oh okay. Well that would explain why i couldn't find anything lol.
  16. Didn't know they had a compound? I always use Mequiar's ultimate compound, and wax. I can't find anything on google about it - do you got any links or anything?
  17. Been curious about this brand as well. They have a ton of airbrush paints as well.
  18. Didn't mean to come off that way. Don't get me wrong i love alclad, and hope they never go out of business. It's just with the way things are going on in the world today it wouldn't surprise me, and just saying if they did we have other great options on the market - so the hobby wouldn't be hurt to bad as a result. It just wouldn't have the same effect on the hobby as if lets say BMF went out of business which i hope they never do as well. Both Alclad & BMF are pioneer's, and i hope they both continue to be successful till the end.
  19. That doesn't look like a chrome finish at all to me. Spazstix black base sucks. Do you got AK Xtreme metal black base or Alclad's black base? Those two are the only two black gloss bases i use for metal colors. There super easy to get a glossy smooth black base. Your spoon test looks like the chrome went on too heavy. Doesn't look bad for what it is, but doesn't have that mirror chrome finish.
  20. Well he did say "If you can" when he mentioned about pictures. I can't, and i haven't been in the hobby room in almost a month. I've been dealing with court, still trying to move out of my apartment from eviction - because of my ex, and trying to take care of my 4 year old son on my own since i have protective custody right now. I still try to be active on the forums by trying to help folks with suggestions etc.
  21. If you don't mind me asking? How much was that lexus?
  22. I don't have to prove a point to get any type of "credibility" on here. I was simply stating suggestions, and simply doing tests will give you all the credibility you need. Also LP line up of metallic paint's are much better than there XF line up because the flakes are much smaller compared to the XF. Even the shade is different between the two line up's on most of the colors. Instead of 2 people jumping my back about the suggestions i made because i didn't show pics? Probably should get off the high horse and help with advice or show proof or just not reply at all.
  23. Haven't heard anything like that, but if they did they could easily be replaced. Tons of great replacements on the market.
  24. MCW is great paint dunno bout the best you'll ever find, but if you do mainly older cars than there a must besides scalefinishes.
  25. If you're gonna use Tamiya I'd recommend there LP line up instead of the XF line. The XF line up of metallic paint's aren't that good compared to the LP version. The Titanium silver while very nice, will not give you the results you're looking for on those rims if done over black base - probably a grey or white base. Alclad's matt aluminum will give you very close results to the center of the rims, and the outer part i would look more towards a white aluminum again on a grey or white base not black.
